first time poster here. have you guys ever heard of martial arts role play? or MARP'ing? i heard about some guys in Tacoma Washington who took the idea of LARPING (live action role play) from those D&D nerds, and thought to themselves, "we saw all those cop shows and thought it was cool to wrestle suspects and, shoot guns and all that stuff, why can't we just train it like those LARP'ers?" i heard that they made a gym and they would just train scenarios, like if they needed to get a crazy person out of the bathroom, one of them would role play as a crazy person and they would go in and get him, and the guy who was role playing as the crazy person would do just that, and they would have safewords and all that stuff. they would do things like. suspect resists police detainment knife hostage scenarios multiple police vs one suspect resisting detainment. weapon draw scenarios knife attack scenarios have you guys ever heard of training like this? thanks.
I've seen schools that offer scenario classes: http://shivworks.com/ is one that comes to mind. They use simunitions to light each other up while wrestling and what not. Seen the same done with Airsoft too.
