Making my workouts develop explosiveness/speed

My history of gym time has been mostly spent just lifting and i am curious if I have to change my whole program or if i could just start doing less reps but trying to explode on every one.. Is there any general guide to developing more explosive power\speed when lifting compared just getting stronger muscles?
 
What is your goal? Do you have a sport?

sprints /plyos
olympic lifting or variations
medicine ball throws

The olympic and collegiate sprinters do these things.

And if you haven't been doing these things you will notice a difference in explosiveness.
