I think you mean How did the fight go .
Kinda as I expected But I was still hoping Maia could lock in a submission on the guy if he got sloppy

Fact: If you can't take your opponent down at will, you're not the greatest BJJ to step into Octagon.

Imagine, if you will, what the fight would have looked like if Maia refused to strike the way Usman refused to grapple.

Maia pressed the action 90% of the time and continuously threw punches for 5 rounds and attempted a dozen takedowns. Usman went for a safe sprawl and brawl strategy.

Good for Usman for a winning strategy but honestly it makes for an ugly fight that is frustrating to watch. This certainly isn't Maia's fault. This shitty fight was purely on Usman. Because Maia went for it 100% of the time. He didn't refuse to strike he didn't play a safe game.

Huge props for Maia and fuck the UFC for putting these shitty fights together. Nobody wants to see a 5 round demonstration of takedown defense. Oh and fuck these refs on these quick stand ups across the board. We have rounds for a reason. Usman was in a world of shit 1st round and got a gift from the ref on that break - not saying Maia would have won - but fucking hell you don't break that clinch up when you match a takedown artist against a takedown defense specialist.

Seriously. Shit fight but everyone except Maia is to blame.
