The Conor hate is reaching unparalleled levels of silliness. Now just about anyone named on SD is a better striker than Conor.

If they are, then why are they not multiple champions in the premier and highest paying org (UFC)? After all Conor also has awful ground skills by all hater accounts, so if he got two belts and 100 millions from inferior striking then those with the superior striking should be megastars.

Also what does it say about Aldo, Alvarez, Nate, Max, etc ... because he pummeled them with his crap striking, so they must be below amateur level!

I don’t like Conor’s public persona nor his last fight performance, but every thread becoming “person X is better than Conor” in silly and boring.

Sherdog people have a really hard time understanding this. Conor has got to be either the second coming or completely useless.

He is a very good mma striker. MMA fighters are tough and generally have good distance control and precision when compared to the average kickboxer. That's why mma fighters often have sucess in one off matches against kickboxers.

But Conor has got the one tool and has never beat elite strikers. Tenshin - albeit in very friendly environments - has beat top level strikers and has got a whole arsenal to work with. they're in a different league.

What's hilarious is that you are talking about Conor vs Tenshin in an MMA fight when they are multiple weight classes apart.

What happened to Joe Schilling or Gokhan Saki is irrelevant. MMA is a completely different sport. There is a completely different stage (octagon vs ring) and they have small gloves which makes the defense completely different.

Plus they have to worry about a lot more things than just striking. Even if the fight stays striking the entire time, you still have to constantly worry about the clinch or the grappling or not getting stuck against the cage, which can make a pure striker tentative and confuse them.

Not to mention that Gokhan Saki was 35 when he joined the UFC I believe, and way past his prime in kickboxing. In his 1st UFC fight he looked good but he gassed hard. He got the KO but he was close to being put away himself.

Even though Tenshin is much smaller, I would still pick him to beat Conor in a kickboxing fight. Maybe even in boxing.

Well, pretty much every good amateur boxer in the world is a better striker than Conor tbh, let alone world class pros. It’s the highest level of striking, with the biggest talent pool.

    LOL exactly...

Lomachenko was an amateur until 2013.

People on this site don't know shit. Why are MMA fans such cancer? Is there a better forum out there?

... but Conor allegedly sucks even more at grappling and ground fighting. So on that basis his amateur striking and awful grappling got him to beat some of the best, win several belts and earn 100 million from fighting, whilst the thousands of much better amateurs don’t even become pros ... how? ;)

I would make Conor the favourite in boxing.

Under kickboxing Tenshin would win on points easily.

    Conor’s kicks are very bad.

You joined in 2010 and you still judge a fighter by his Wiki page?

Saenchai Sor Kingstar is a legend of Muay Thai, one of the best of recent times.

He said he’d never fought anyone with the accuracy in their hands of McGregor.

On the other hand he laughed at his kicks.

Because its much harder to become a pro in boxing than in MMA.

Most good amateur boxers would tear McGregor apart in the boxing ring.

Lomachenko is hardly the average amateur boxer, true there are a few like him but not many.

Who said anything about average amateur boxers?

We are clearly talking about GOOD amateur boxers. The guys who could have a future in pro and dominate most of their competition.

Pretty much all of those guys would beat the shit out of Conor in the boxing ring.

There’s more to kickboxing than just leg kicks.

Tenshin was putting Thais on their ass with front kicks, that’s beating them at their own game.

There not a Thai out there at 135 or above who wouldn’t immediately catch Conor’s Front kick and put him on his ass - it was horrific against Khabib.

Plus understanding kicking distance and defending middle and high kicks Tenshin is better and he has a few tricks up his sleeve that are much better than Connors tae kwon do which hasn’t worked on absolutely anyone and not for want of trying.

Lol, nah. They are too limited by definition that they are just boxers. Put Conor vs any amateur boxer in a striking only match and watch Conor demolish them with kicks, knees elbows and all kind if things they have never trained for.

Talent availability is only one part of what determines the level of striking. The more dimensions there are to an art the more you need to master, the higher the level.

What is a striking only match, Glory rules?

Most guys at 155-165 would destroy him.
