You are talking about a fight a century ago. Rockhold has been lit up by strikes by guys that Gus would destroy on the feet. He isnt getting the takedown either. Plus reach. No win here.

You absolutely cannot use the Jones fight as an example. That was in the 5th round when Jones got him down and both guys were EXHAUSTED. You just can't reference that fight to state your argument on this.

I dunno man, he was giving up a lot of size and draining himself to get to 185. Dudes 33 and 6’4”. He has no business trying to make that weight anymore. He was straight up looney tunes at the weigh ins in Perth with how much he dropped. The only person at 185 that Yoel hasn’t been able to put away is Bobby Knuckles and I think that Luke def puts on muscle and size and would be competitive. The division is wide open right now with all contenders dispatched by DC who is on the verge of retirement with two fights left for him before turning 40. Can be beat Gus? Pretty tall order but I can ser see him doing well in the top 15.

Luke is just not a aggressive enough fighter for 205 his cocky style and Captain Crunch chin will get him laid out flat quick. But if he were to make the move now would be the time seeing how it's become a wasteland with the king gone and I don't mean DC.

Let's look at Gustafssons fights before the Jones fight. At all the crappy wins plus he got subbed by Davis like an amateur. Surely he will get smashed when he faces Jones. This is a walkover.

Unless Luke takes away the narrative of just crowd his space and fight in his chest I don't see good things for him. He needs to change up his fighting style or add more moves to his toolbox become an attacker instead of laid back vibe.
