Lots of Fedors "prime" boards recently. Ya all know he has had 100's of full contact fights right?

Fedor's physical deterioration didn't make him jump into a ADCC and IBJJF world champion's guard like an idiot

This whole prime vs. out of prime excuse is tired and unoriginal. Fedor never evolved his game. He's looked the same since beating Nog for the Pride title.

Compare that to someone like GSP who came into the UFC as a karate guy and ended up being the most prolific wrestler MMA has ever seen.

If fedor was the same as the fedor who beat nog for pride title, he would not be losing to Matt Mitrione lmao.

You don't know that. That's supposition. All I know is he looks just as fast as he always has but he's still untechnical and sloppy and guys are catching him now

You must be completely fucking blind if you think Fedor looks as fast now as he did a decade ago lol

He may not be as fast as he did ten years ago but his standup technique is still shit.
Throw wild/looping punches
No footwork and head movement, don’t cut opponent off and create angle.
Little to no variety on feet.
Not technical at all
“Fedor boxing is Better than stipe”

-He also threw straight punches. It was actually a straight that he hit Mitrione with.
-He did have footwork and head movement.
-He did have variety on the feet.

You dont even know what you are trying to say.

First of all,he does have head movement,as evidenced in the hunt and arlovski fights.

Secondly,he was insanely fast in his prime, which means he could land looping punches even when guys know that he throws those. Remember mirko busted his nose and he threw back an overhand that had it landed would have banished mirko to the shadow realm. I mean he barely was able to get away from it. "Technical" doesnt mean anything. It is only what is effective and Fedor was very effective at taking all his skills and using them as a whole. "Not technical at all" is literally a worthless statement.

Against mirko he boxed him to the head and body which is something even alot of mma strikers today dont do. Esp at hw.

Here is a STRAIGHT right down the middle, great footwork to shift right foot forward and great head movement to roll under Nog's left hook as he enters the clinch.

He absolutely had variety and was very technical.

You either haven't watched very many fights or you don't know what you're watching.

Thanks for the post. I was trying to word a simaler comeback, but you got it right here.

I think prime Fedor is the 2nd greatest fighter in history, just behind Conor.

Lol at shitting on prime Fedor striking, when he was one of the most difficult fighters to hit, and for sure the best at HW

Very hard to connect on him, got rocked seriously like once by a punch, and never knocked down during his YEARS of dominance

There's a reason if peoples have to use Fujita's gif, because that's about all they got lol

Fedor did'nt needed a moltitude of boxing dodges in his fencing, as when he was fast and explosive he was the one imposing the aggression and used reflexes/speed to do it without have his head in a predicable line of movement

And when he did thatyou did'nt had time to find an opening or a trajectory to intercept, as he's throwing bombs with both hands and can/will switch to throw in any moment, wich break the fencing approach

Hoost himself said he could have done "very good" in K1 if he trained specifically for it, and that was when K1 was big deal

Well, technically the 3rd greatest.

But I figured you weren't counting the real GOAT, because everyone knows that is Artem Lobov and it's just not even fair to try to compare anyone else to him.

For those who don't know Combat Sambo is basically MMA on matts and in a tournament format. Fedor went undefeated for years in that sport as well where he beat many quality fighters including Alexey Oleynik and Blagoi Ivanov.

The idea that Werdum represented some massive shift in MMA sub grappling ability from Nog is I think highly questionable, if that's the case then why did both Nog and Sergei avoid any danger with him in Pride?

The clear difference to me is Fedor, people look at the GnP in the first Nog fight and think he just went crazy but that's simply not true. Indeed those fights provide a great example in whats similar and whats different about them. Fedor catches Nog early just as he catches Werdum and follows him to the ground but what he does then is totally different, 2003 Fedor see's Nog is still a threat and holds position, 2010 Fedor looks the finish right away. The GnP Fedor throws in 2003 mostly comes from a distance outside of triangle range and he waits to throw it until Nog has a butterfly guard looking for sweeps.

Then of course you have the 3rd fight between them when Fedor fights in a totally different fashion keeping Nog much more at arms length, probably in a response to Nog keeping a closer tighter guard in the 2nd fight.

He declined physically somewhat but he also declined in ring IQ and became a much narrower fighter focused on getting very early finishes, the Fedor that fought Bigfoot and threw those sloppy hooks would have eaten Mirko's left straight.

How does those gif prove anything? Are you trolling
The first gif have literally nothing to do with footwork.all he did is fake a punch then land a takedown
The rest of the gif prove jack shit because any mma fighter can do a body and head kick

Your mind is so brainwashed by Dana, Rogan and UFC hype that you seem to think that "footwork" means running around in circles in a massive octagon running away from the opponent trying to point fight like Dominick Cruz.

Footwork is many things. In the second GIF, you can seem him bouncing, feinting and moving his feet and changes angles with subtle steps right before he moves in for the attack. That is footwork.

In the first GIF, he throws a straight right and shifts his right foot forward as he simultaneously rolls under a left hook and ends up perfectly in the clinch.

If you cannot see that as good footwork and technique then you literally know nothing about fighting, but we already know that from all your posts and threads.

Sorry he doesn't qualify for your definition of footwork:

First you need to understand what footwork does.
Footwork in mma is used to avoid strikes and finding/creating angle.
In your example all fedor did is fake a punch then land a takedowns.very common in modern mma.he doesn’t find use footwork to find a create opportunity like modern mma fighter.
Second. Don’t even compare a brawler like fedor to a master technical striker like Cruz,p.cruz got the best footwork in mma history.if you don’t understand footwork then pls don’t watch mma.cruz is million times more advance than a hw brawler that got ktfo by a mw
