The OT rule is implented so the match doesn't go to a draw which is even worse. Most guys just lay around on defense and ride out the 20 minute time period & will take a draw. Nothing lame about this rule at all and the OT is very exciting. You start in a superior position of your choosing and your opponent needs to escape or you need to tap them. Danis lost fair and square.

If Marcelo Garcia, who is arguably one of the nicest people on earth, kicks you out of his school, that means you have some serious character flaws. If you hate DD now, I'm sure there is so much that happened behind closed doors that we don't even know about.

No question he's a great BJJ practitioner, but the way he's marketing himself is all wrong. He sees what works with Conor and he's trying to emulate the bad guy image.

Can someone explain to me why guys who train with Conor adapt his personality? This Danis guy and Artem, with their super confidence and attitude, its like man you guys are just annoying,reminds me of Adrien Broner who tries to be like Floyd.

while im happy jake got the 'win' im not a fan of the EBI OT at all and wish they'd rework it. it replaces draws with a lame strategy in some matches and doesn't necessarily reward the 'better' player.

He's not wrong, I feel like 99% of mma community didn't even watch the match and just thinks he is a sore loser. He was dominating the action and aggressively going for submissions, shields basically did nothing but survive and play for a draw then won due to a crappy OT rule. It was pretty clear DD > Shields in bjj

 

EBI rules are awful. Dillon got the better of Shields in that match.

 

He's still a douche bag who can't go 5 minutes without copying Conor or name dropping a celebrity. Marcelo "nicest guy ever" Garcia kicked him out of his gym and he's been training there since he was a kid. Fuck Danis the guy makes me sick. He's a BJJ guy who has never fought MMA why do we even speak about him? He is entirely irrelevant to anything involving MMA.

The guy is so unoriginal. I always thought artem lobov was trying to copy Conor but I was wrong. Dillon Danis is the mini Conor Mcgregor. The guy still somehow believes people care about him. I highly doubt very many people know who he is or care enough about him.
