What did you guys expect lol?

He was never a defensive fighter to begin with and has been through wars during his career and has taken punishment. That takes a toll and builds up overtime.

His chin or ability to take a hit isnt what it used to be.

Top that off with a decline in his explosiveness and overall athletic ability.

If he keeps this up he'll be nothing more than just guys making their mma resume look good by beating a legendary fighter.

Smh, hang it up. Was truly a goat but fedors time like the other greats is just done.

people didn't want to admit that he lost ALL 3 ROUNDS against maldonado. Lol just because fedor came forward they claimed he won those rounds, dispite the fact that Maldonado still rocked fedor 3 times in the last 2 rounds, out jabbed him and worked the body with punches. Baiscally Fabio was the only one landing shots, almost everything that fedor threw missed or was blocked.

When you lose 3 rounds with maldonado and are almost killed in one, you have no business to fight top 30 fighters.

Dudes chin is super sensitive at this point.

He shoulda signed that UFC contract, fought the top fighters then, if he lost. Call it a retirement. No shame in ending it to the top guys when he was already at the end of his peak.

Now he's stuck losing to not even top guys in his division.

But I'll give him credit till this day, he still doesnt consider himself goat.

Who is surprised? I wasn't in the least bit. Fedor had/has nothing to offer the top 20 heavyweights anymore. You could see within the first 10-20 seconds he had no chance. Meathead was dancing and moving "gracefully" as you could see he was going to be moving effectively throughout the fight and the size difference was quite noticeable. Then there was Fedor who looked like he had cement shoes on and hoping for the one bomb to hit. Granted it hit but then they both went down and one could react and the other was moving in slow-motion and that is the one who should never have came back.

Others have elaborated but Mitrione while Not top tier UFC still a decent fighter capable of KOs. So while Fedor's age, size and battle fatigue factors deteriorating his chin and speed still Mitrione needed to connect and ate a shot of his own too.

While much different so sorry for the stretch comparison Aldo and Conor also tried an exchange but Conor landed on the money just a tiny bit sooner so Aldo's shot did not have enough on it to rock Conor. Catching someone as they are stepping into a punch amplifies the power and of course affect.

Aldo of course bounced back and beat a high tier contender Frankie before falling to Max so not anywhere near Fedor's decline, yet.
