What the fuck is going on here?
Well as U can see I went from this...
To this on the thread...
Mods please archive.
It just dawned on me that Dan is making videos similar to the Gracie Anti Bully stuff, but a little different. The Gracie stuff is about a smaller, weaker person escaping from or subduing an untrained opponent who is bullying them.
Virtually all of Dan's videos are him, as the larger, better trained practitioner, subduing, submitting, and controlling a weaker, lesser trained person.
The Gracies are making anti-bully videos.
Dan is effectively making "How to Bully" videos.
Can someone please explain to me the original context of the video @RJ Green has labeled "Boopjitsu.com"? Or, @DanTheWolfman.com, could you possibly link me to the original? I just need to know what the heck is going on there ...
Dafuq did I just watch. And I'm always curious where Dan is getting the money from for his beat-up-smaller-people tours, ain't nobody paying for this rubbish.
you wouldn't pay top dollar for training of this caliber?
dude, bro, one time he totally punched akiyama during gym sparring.
I don't dislike Dan at all and have PM'd a few times on some technique topics. But I do always wonder why he doesn't just settle down in some moderate sized town, and open up an MMA gym. He has a enough photo's of him with big name MMA people that he could hang on the wall and get a pretty good sized following while only working 4-5 hours a night teaching.
I've come across successful MMA places in out of the way towns with a lot worse people with less training than Dan.
Dan's like a manic writer that could be great with some editing. i really dislike his throw-shit-and-see-what-sticks videos and all the starfuckery in his posts but it's not like everything he posts is total bullshit.
i mean the systema is bullshit and the mosh-pitting in a bag forest is bullshit but there are positions and techniques where his skill cues are pretty insightful, like if rain man was on roids and bath salts.
I think Dan could carve out a pretty normal, quiet martial arts living in a 120,000 to 150,000 person town. Places like Topeka, Kansas or similar. A decent sized town in a fly over state where big names in BJJ or MMA don't have any interest in (since those guys are all in Florida, NYC or Cali).
With say 20-30 adult students and just as many kids classes he could probably make more money than he is does on the globe trotting third world country tour with a lot less stress and more stability. I mean that's what I would do if I were Dan. Not hat I'm saying how he should live his life, but I really don't get the third world country touring thing. Not for me. I think settling down would probably calm Dan's brain and he would be able to get people to help him produce more cohesive content.
Dan is the greatest character on this forum.
I like the majority of Dan's grappling stuff. I'd believe he'd perform at a decent brown brown belt level in Bjj, and probably do very well in a regional level nogi/submission tournament. He's been around for a long time, and met a lot of legends. The problems come though with that he is the least humble guy ever, and wants to be treated like a legend without achieving anything. Most guys that have been around since grappling/mma for 25years have had 30 or 40 fights. If not they have taken there knowledge and produced high level guys, instead of this ridiculous "I showed ____ how to ____".
Most of Dan's crazy shit is when he's strikeing. Dan's stand up is not good, but that's not his grappling. I genuinely hope he settles down somewhere, takes teaching seriously, and try's to produce an athlete
- Just Sean Astin training some wing-chun with a guy using a Bay-Watch type of short`s.
Does anybody know what Dan's job is? He did he end up travelling around South East Asia and rolling around In MMA gyms ?
Probably an international mercenary for higher.
He is the real life John Wick.
That is some brilliant style melding, I see wing chun and jiujitsu, I see catch, I see chainpunching gnp, Dan Wolfman is a true master of those forms to be able to blend and hybridize them so briliantly.
