Lets be real. A prime Anderson Silva would smack heads around in this day and age

Prime Silva would run the division today. There was no simply no one like him.remember he subbed prime hendo

For sure. And it´s not even close. All the most important UFC records.... also he went up and abso-fucking-lutely destroyed 3 LHW including a former champ. And let´s not forget he has the most incredible highlights in MMA ever. Best KOs in the UFC and biggest comeback submission EVER in MMA.

Two of said LHWs included barely mid-tier fighter that never mattered outside of WEC in James Irvin. Bonner who had practically retired and was nothing more than a gatekeeper plus he took the fight on short notice. Griffin had just got blasted by Rashad Evans and didn't do anything of note after that fight but Silva would have worked Rockhold who is top to bottom a far superior version of Griffin.

You honestly believe if Rockhold, Jacare or Weidman got Silva down and mounted him the way Sonnen (lifetime gatekeeper save for a magical two year run) or Lutter did they would have let him up? Or he could have pulled off a triangle against those three?

And lol at people thinking he was amazing cuz of that Forrest ko lol , his best ko was vítor by far but still steroids

I feel like the Anderson that fought Forrest was the greatest striking display ever.

The bisping ko is a cheap shot.even anderoid fanboys know it.
And anyone who isn't bias know that dc go easy on silva.
His matrix doesn't work on elite fighter like weidman

You are new to MMA.

Go back to bed.

Prime Silva would kill the current MW division. Only Jacare and maybe Romero are tough fights for him.

Whittaker is good against grappler with subpar striking but he can't stand with prime Anderson.
Rockhold is getting slept by Bisping and getting tagged hard by DAVE BRANCH lol.
Weidman would have lost to 38 yo Anderson if he stopped taunting, let alone prime Anderson.

This day and age has random drug testing, so I'm not sure how successful he would really be.

Awesome video. Thanks for posting it! I love it. Very different to the other highlight video's, showing a different perspective on everything.

So much desperation in this thread.

Anderson would have been curbstomped by USADA. Then he would have lost to several fighters, and that's nothing to say of Weidman, who utterly annihilated him.

Silva failed once, after returning from the broken leg. You can't say anything about instances he never failed, otherwise all can be said of all fighters. The PED argument for ranking fighters is ridiculous: Weidman also shrunk and his performances tanked after USADA.

If you want to use the PED argument, use it for when the fighter was actually caught, or accept that when they were not caught, the playing field was levelled.

A Silva-Jacare fight wouldn't be too different from his fights with Maia and Leites. Jacare has nothing for him on the feet.

Romero could smother him, but Silva had some of the best defensive guards in MMA, so it's impossible to know how a 4th and 5th round would unfold with a tired Romero.

Andy was so fuckin amazing, hopefully when it's all said and done people will look back and realize he is truly one of the greats, if not the greatest. He's the best UFC fighter ever IMO, it's really hard to argue it once you actually look at his achievements.

tomero, rockhold, jacare, Whittaker, mousasi would all give him serious problems. None are givens

Yeah the MW roster is better, but Anderson just fucking clowned every MW in his prime. The gap isn't so big now from then that Anderson would lose today IMO.

I think he'd have closer fights vs todays MWs, but he is a big favorite vs ALL them in his prime.

Bisping - CRUSHES him in his Prime. Not even a close fight.

Rockhold - It's closer than vs Bisping, but Rockhold gets hit A LOT and you cannot let Anderson tee off on you. If it goes to the ground it is very interesting though.

Whittaker - He is a striker and no one out strikes a prime Anderson.

Romero - A very interesting fight and probably Anderson's biggest challenge. His TD's are elite and his GnP is brutal. I'd be most interested to see this fight.

Weidman - Offers nothing IMO. Anderson was well in his decline and just clowned Weidman right up till he got KTFO lol. A prime killer Anderson mauls him. Yes Weidman could get a TD, but his GnP isn't at Rockholds or Romero's level.

Jacare - Jacare has a chance to sub ANYONE, but his striking is sloppy. Jacare would try to get it to the mat, but his TD's are not elite and Anderson had decent TDD. Anderson KO's him on the feet.

Gastelum - He'd try to strike with Anderson and again not happening.

Brunson - Lost to an old ass Anderson, why is he even on this list?

Machida - Pretty intersting fight in both their primes. Todays Machida though??????

Branch - He'd be tapping out real quick once Anderson hit him.

Hall - Lol for real?

MOUSASI - The biggest and most real threat Anderson would face vs today's top MW. I know he is in Bellator, but I'm throwing him in. This fight would be VERY close Prime vs Prime.
