Lawler will likely be out for the rest of the year but if this fight did happen, I think he wins easily. It's amazing that if a guy loses to the current champion and the #1 contender that he is suddenly "washed up" or "done". If Lawler loses to someone like Erick Silva or Yancy Medeiros, then I'll believe he's on the downslide but until then, I think he's still incredibly dangerous (especially against a one dimensional fighter like Maia).
