Elections Kyrsten KO McSally [Republicans Squeal Fraud]

The craziest thing is that it's close and that a woman who hates Arizona could be their next Senator.

Orlando. Just kind of in a rut here, hoping a change in scenery will help.
Good luck, hombre. Hopefully a change will do you good. The ocean itself should be invigorating. Just don't go full Florida. Never go full Florida.

"One poll worker, Deborah Brooks-Wims tells the operative "If he has his ID that's all he needs. If he's registered."

"It doesn't matter that he's not a citizen?" asks the Veritas journalist. "No! No...."

This exact type of shit could have happened in Arizona.

A lot less crazy than a bone spur having two bit, 6 time bankrupt reality Tv host getting elected President of the United States

weren't they counting something like over 400k votes ? 20k+ is not insurmountable if there are still that many votes .. but depends the area of course

State that historically takes a long time to rally votes, takes a long time to tally votes. President calls fraud because counting votes from the largest city in the state favors the Democrat.

Our president isn't a deep thinker. Or he's trying to undermine the vote solely on the basis of it possibly not going in his favor.

Democrat Kyrsten Sinema expanded her narrow lead in Arizona’s U.S. Senate on Saturday with gains in Maricopa and Pima counties erasing smaller losses to Republican Martha McSally elsewhere around the state. Sinema’s lead grew to 29,832 votes as of 7 p.m. and gave her a 1.4 percentage point advantage.

Overall, Sinema has 1,048,655 votes and McSally has 1,018,823. Green Party candidate Angela Green has 49,584. The Arizona Republic estimates there are 260,000 ballots still to be counted in the state. The number for Maricopa County is 198,000, where, so far, Sinema has been winning by 3.5 percentage points.

While McSally’s vote deficit grew, Republicans took aim at the election process. In a statement Saturday, the National Republican Senatorial Committee attacked Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes, a Democrat, saying he "has been using his position to cook the books for Kyrsten Sinema."

The Arizona Republican Party noted Saturday that it had filed a public-records request Saturday of Fontes and alleged "questionable and possibly illegal decisions made by Adrian Fontes, including opening voter centers for non-emergencies the weekend before the election, and curing ballots in the general, but not the primary election."

Republicans are seeking "all communications between Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes’ Office and the Sinema campaign and her allies," the state GOP announced.

So they're going with the "yes people legally entitled to vote voted against us, but those votes shouldn't be counted" route.

That's gusto for disenfranchisement is really gross.

lmao

This post-election has been absolutely shameless. What a lawless and stupid political party these Republicans have become.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is so upset that Martha McSally might lose the U.S. Senate race to Democrat Kyrsten Sinema that it is willing to poison your belief in our voting system.

The Republicans first wanted to suppress thousands of valid ballots, even though there is no way to predict who was favored on those ballots. Since that didn’t quite work out, the new strategy is to bad mouth and try to denigrate the reputation of Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes, who was elected in 2016 as a Democrat.

Republicans are sending out press releases and trying to get you to believe that he can't be trusted and that he is trying to rig the election for Sinema.

Here’s the thing about Fontes, however, a former Marine and an attorney. If he is now trying to go into the election-rigging business he REALLY stinks at it. You’ve seen the ballot, right? There are lots, and lots of races on it, not simply Sinema versus McSally. And in many, many of those races Republicans have won. If Republicans are saying you shouldn’t trust the results of the senate race then you can't trust the results in all those other races, either.

Because it’s a big ballot. Everything on it gets counted.

Of course, Fontes only works in Maricopa County. There are 14 other counties in Arizona. I’m not sure how he could hold sway over the election departments in any of them. But even if he did, he’d be just about the worst election-rigger in history.

Republicans say Fontes is biased for Democrats.

If that is so why did Fontes' department count all those ballots for the re-election of Republican Gov. Doug Ducey, who has been declared the winner? Or, for that matter, why didn’t he tamper with the ballots of Republican Attorney General Mark Brnovich, who also was declared a winner? As was the Republican winner in the state treasurer race, Kimberly Yee.

Or, could it be, just maybe, that Fontes is NOT altering votes. Maybe all his office is trying to do is count the votes. All of the votes. As are election officials in the other 14 counties.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s pathetic campaign to spread ridiculous rumors and to smear Fontes' reputation is not only childish, but it could do serious damage to voters’ belief in our system.

It’s simple: Every vote counts and we live with the outcome. You don’t get to say the system only works if your side wins – unless, of course, you’re Vladimir Putin.

They're going to really flip the fuck out if Arizona winds up with Double D representation in the US Senate come 2020. Acting like it's some kind of impossibility to win in the state; it's very difficult but not impossible and Dems actually hold 5-4 in DC House representation. Anyways congrats to Kyrsten on this victory, also becomes the first (openly) bisexual Senator in US history.

EDIT : OH wait! Nevermind. I misread that. You mentioned 2020 and it is a possibility, too.

Yeah, I saw they pulled Jon Kyl from his lobbying work for Northrop Grumman to temporarily fill in.

I'm from a Arizona and I approve this win.
I'm not a Democrat or Republican I despise then both equally but for fucking sakes the Republicans haven't done shit for my state but to make headlines of how fucking retard the Arizona Republicans are. They completely shoot themselves on the foot and people are finally feed up with their racist, religious, corrupt ways.
Good job AZ!!!

McSally ran a really reprehensible campaign. It was horrible. I’m glad that insufferable bitch lost and impressed voters responded negatively to her vapid attacks.

Edit: I do give her credit to not give into GOP pressure to attempt to publicly delegitimize the vote count (yet). It’s awful that the GOP finds it necessary to contest the veracity of an election count, before it is over and with no evidence. Pathetic, as is Trump’s statement.

Not surprised she is winning. The Reps have been running this state for decade. Pima county is a shithole. I moved here from another red state, and this is one is far worse.
