Looks like it could be happening in April.

Wladimir Klitschko is contemplating a sensational return to boxing and has been in talks with Anthony Joshua over a potential rematch.

The former heavyweight world champion hung up his gloves after being stopped by Joshua in a epic clash at Wembley last year, but now seems tempted by the possibility of getting a second bite at the cherry amid uncertainty over the Brit's next opponent.

Joshua had his heart set on a blockbuster clash for all the marbles against Deontay Wilder in the spring next year but now finds himself in no man's land with the WBC champion keen to restart negotiations with Tyson Fury following their controversial split-decision draw in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn is narrowing down the list of options as they look for a credible name to put in front of the unified champion at Wembley on April 13 and claimed that Klitschko is keen to throw his name into the hat.

Hearn told iFL TV: 'He wants to come back. I think he text AJ and said: "I wanna come back, I feel like I beat everybody in the division right now."'

However, as things stand, the winner of Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora's grudge rematch later this month appear the obvious choice for the April 13 slot against Joshua, although Hearn remains optimistic of convincing Wilder to cross the pond in a battle for the undisputed championship.

The American and Fury have both expressed a desire to set up their rematch in the new year after their intriguing heavyweight contest ended in a draw.

Despite this, Hearn is still targeting Wilder as Joshua's next opponent but is not yet willing to rule out a number of other options.

Any attempts to lure Klitschko out of retirement over the past year had fallen on deaf ears but the Ukrainian now appears to be seriously considering it with a shot at redemption on the cards.

Wlad is too smart to come back. He knows he’s too old and will wisely stay retired.

dont come back and if you do dont come back against AJ lol

Really ??

Well damn...

No warm up fight?

Go to the U.K, whoop David Price or Gary Cornish

Then, I could see how this could sell a little.

Oh it will sell alright right out the gate, it was FOTY and Joshua is kind of a big thing over here

I don't see it happening. Furthermore, the weightclass is currently strong enough without Wlad risking his healthy retirement. Maybe they're toying with Wilder and Fury.

He is aiming to beat Joshua and then rematch Fury, to become the GOAT HW of all times. And to become 2nd p4p GOAT, right behind Floy. Floy Bless.

Not a good idea. Wlad could get really badly hurt this time around. He should stay retired and leave it to the young guns.

He could still brutalize Wilder for sure, maybe rematch Fury depending how much he aged. But AJ is probably too much for him at 42/43.

Well thats a bad idea if Ive ever heard one.

Every fan would take it I believe. The thing is we know very well Wlad is not coming back and this is just a publicity stunt.

Yeah that’s what I think. Wlads an intelligent guy and this would be a stupid move in all honesty. massively respect him but don’t want to see him in the ring again

Holy shit.

Wlad should fight someone else first if this is real. Fuck it, give him chisora or anyone other than AJ. let's see where hes at.

I doubt he's coming back tho

Would be crazy.
Hope he does it.
Wilder-Fury II
Joshua-Klitschko II

Winners face off

Joshua should have a fight with jarrell miller then fight the winner of fury/wilder

I think it could still be competitive but not sure Klitch should do it. The first fight was as close as they get.

Love it. Way better than AJ vs Whyte. I wouldnt mind AJ vs Ortiz though for the fresh match up.
