Will we ever see this legend fight in the UFC again? He's still under contract with the UFC and isn't officially retired. He looked decent in his last fight against Roman Salazar until he accidentally poked his eyes. Maybe he can have 1 last fight whenever UFC visits Japan.

Edit : Rest In Peace Norifumi “KID” Yamamoto! I will always remember you!

Yeah, let's have another former great get killed by mediocre or new guys. Because Shad and Gomi weren't enough.

Kid was great but he was past his prime by the time he got to the UFC.

Dude was never the same after snapping his arm at the olympic trials. Damn shame he never fought Faber

Kid is done.

He was something else in his prime though. A fucking bantamweight murking lightweights and featherweights. Blistering speed, KO power in both hands, a legit wrestling game and vicious as fuck.

8-0 run at lightweight, all finishes. Shit is ridiculous

Apparently he's still signed. Last fight he had scheduled was June 2016 but he pulled out with injury.

Anyone know if he's still being tested by USADA? Maybe he's on the TRT training plan and gearing up for a comeback.

The end of a hype train,
is messy at best.
And this hype train is ending,
like all the rest.
Like the mighty Sokoudjou,
knocked out on the floor.
Your train will derail,
and be hype train no more.

The guy was legit some years back.... Shame that we get these guys from Japan MMA past prime.

He was done when he was no longer a Kid.

The lower weight classes are very unforgiving when it comes to ageing. He literally only has one win in the last ten years and that wasnt even in the ufc. He was great in his time but that time has passed.

You think Conor could handle a prime KID? KID stood with MASATO in his prime. Conor couldn't do that shit.
Conor is way, way, way too big. Kid was great, but he’s no Aldo.

Again, Conor would choose to try and stand with KID and lose. It's that simple. We're not even discussing that KID was a damn good wrestler too.

Kid’s not outstriking him at any point, I’m sorry. The size difference is too much, and you’re not giving Conor enough credit for being one of the best MMA strikers we’ve ever seen. If the Aldo and Nate fights showed us anything, you have to be bigger than him to beat him.

Masato is same size as McGregor and a better striker, by about 400 light years.
