Both have 10 fights in the UFC. Yes McGregor beat more "top 5" guys but the majority were undersized opponents. Now lets look at their roots before the UFC. McGregor with 14 fights vs Khabib with 16 fights, not only more fights but you literally cannot compare the athletes on the Russian MMA scene with the Irish-UK scenes. At least, the US has wrestling in highschool and college, Western Europe doesn't even have that. Those novices who get into MMA in Ireland and Britain are random BUMS who decided they want to fight as a hobby or they have a "shot" at it as a career because they saw it on TV and thought it was cool. In the US its about 50/50, but in Russia the vast majority of fighters getting into MMA have amateur credentials.

Khabib beat Oleg Bagov who's a multiple time Russian Combat Sambo champion, 3x Russian UWW Grappling champion, 2011 UWW World Grappling champion, 2013 World Combat Games gold medalist. He placed 3rd just this year alone at FIAS Russian Combat Sambo championships, all while he's an active MMA fighter with a high winstreak.

He beat Shahbulat Shamlaev, winner of the Bellator 2012 Featherweight Tournament, decorated in Sanda.

He beat Vadim Sandulsky, who's a multiple time Moldova Combat Sambo champ, decorated in Judo.

He beat Eldar Eldarov, his teammate and multiple time Russian Combat Sambo champ and World medalist. Now works as the national coach for MMA in Bahrain.

So WTF is Conor talking about when he's referring to Khabib as an amateur? LOL he has a lot more experience overall as a martial artist and with more challenges overall (without counting the dozens of combat sambo matches he had when he was a teen).

That’s a whole lot of typing to end at the same place: Conor’s resume >>> Khabib’s.

Conors win over Aldo is better than all of Khabibs wins combined.

Not sure how much that'll play into the equation come October 6th. It's fair to say that Jose Aldo had deeper MMA experience than Conor, but on fight night, with all that pressure, he seemed nervous as hell.

This really should be called "MMA experience in high pressure situations".

Khabib just fought in his first main event ever, this is a GIANT step up for him.

    Here comes the nugget mob.

I think Khabib's resume is better before the UFC than Conor's was, but Conor has clearly had stiffer competition within the UFC.

The best thing about Conor haters, and why it's so easy to discredit them, is that they disparage Conor for moving up and losing to a much bigger/taller fighter in Diaz (despite avenging this loss), yet give him no credit for his wins when he was the bigger fighter. Every post like that deserves the {<huh}reply.

Every time a Conor nuthugger brings up Diaz' size, it deserves this reply:

Against normal sized human beings, their experience is not even in the same stratosphere.

If you haven't heard, they're actually going to fight October 6th 2018. So really you can just stop with all the speculation, at this point it's not needed.

Khabib was winning Sambo World Championships in 2009 and winning at black belt BJJ level in NAGA while Conor was getting subbed by cans in the amateur leagues

McGregor fought fighters from Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway and well as Ireland and the UK. He also fought in Jordan. Artur Sowinski who McGregor beat went on to be KSW champ for a while and Ivan Buchinger went on to become M1 champion and had something like a ten fight streak after losing to McGregor.

Your post is a little bit misleading to say the least.

Setting aside skill, ability, competition etc. Conor has been in some huge fights. He definitely has experienced bigger moments under the bright lights than Khabib. Conor's first big fight was against Aldo and he was calm and loose. That's one of Conor's biggest strengths IMO, his ability to be relaxed, calm, cool, collected, and present in the moment.

How about this? You see the arm angle?

It sucks that you can't have a legit discussion with the haters because all they do is post meme's instead of actually talking about the fight.

It doesnt look 3 times the length to me. Congrats to Conor on fighting one opponent with a longer reach than him lol (something that other fighters do often).

Conor's career would look a lot different if he had to run the gauntlet at LW. He got choked out by Duffy and Nate for reference.
