Kevin Lee was already slowing down in the 4th round and he didn't even make weight.

He was 2 pounds over the specified weight. That means he had an unfair size advantage. And unlike Khabib, he did not end up in the hospital trying to make weight meaning he didn't try that hard.

This man, who did not make weight, was already fatigued after the 3rd round and he was the one on top, not bottom.

Imagine what happens when he does have to make weight. He will be even more exhausted. And Ferguson and Khabib actually have a ground game so it will more likely be him on the bottom get punished. How will this man last? His cardio is an issue. His striking defense is vulnerable. He has no power.

You're sleeping on him. He's legit and has decent power. He barely slowed down last night and landed good shots late. His cuts can go either way but he rarely has a bad cut. He cemented a nice top 5 spot for himself last night. LW is insane ATM.

....i'm pretty sure the stanky leg sequence had something to do with his "slowing down" you speak of....

same vulnerabilities could be said about khabib..

everyone wants to see Khabib against a high level wrestler .. IMO Lee is that man out of anyone in the division

Aside from the Dance Dance Revolution moves, he looked like a legitimate contender.

Lee's wrestling is all power based moves. He use power doubles to take people down. This works on amateur Brazilians but against a guy like Khabib, it will be throwing away energy into a blackhole. This is not an example of a high level wrestler.

There is no way to sustain that type of grappling in a 5 round fight. Khabib on the other hand is leverage based trips and hip throws, way more sustainable.

he was one pound over, not two.

He was not 2 pounds over, he was 1 pound over. Most commissions give fighters 2 additional hours to make weight, New Jersey apparently does not. Hopefully unified rules and pricedures will be adopted by all commissions.

in the division who is better ?

Kevin was delivering 10-8 rounds worth of whoop ass against a dangerous opponent, so it's understandable if he slowed down a bit in later rounds.

Lesser fighters would have wilted from Edson's solid body kicks and the head kick.

It was a non title match. There is a 1lb allowance. He made weight.

if you think the doubles he shot last night were all power doubles you're a fool

his first takedown was pure technique against the cage.

IIRC people who fail to make weight tend to have less endurance, apparently because they exhaust and/or severely dehydrate themselves the day before in the process of trying to lose the last few pounds and failing. Travis Lutter looked like a zombie when he fought Anderson Silva after failing to make weight.

Agreed. UFC should ask a commission official, like the one who allowed DC's towelgate, how much bribery would it take to allow the fighter to make weight.
