Kelvin Gastelum would make easy work of Robert Whittaker

Gaustelum is one of those fighters I can see finding their way winning against anyone at 170/185. Dude is super talented with great cardio but still rough around the edges.

What??? Why has no one called TS out for trolling yet???

Whittaker would crush Kelvin.

Sherdog used to have a quicker troll detection system.

Thread gets 1/7 bjs.

pointing-and-laughing.gif Did you say that with a str8 face? Humor is always good though thanks for that

Kelvin is probably his worst matchup in the top 5, he's also the same age so he's not as battle worn as guys like Weidman/Jacare/Romero etc.

Whittaker is also representing Australian Wrestling in the Commonwealth Games. Does that count?

He looks like he is doing a photo bomb

Big fan of Marreta but he still looks very, very fish out of water-y when taken down.
He's basically the Jimi Manuwa of the MW division. Good at KOs and fierce first rounders.
I find the KO specialists in MMA tend to fly up to the top 10 ranks and even sometimes the top 5. Then they take on an all rounder or a true martial artist and they get exposed.
Marreta Vs Jacare would go the way we all know it'll go.

Yes but stylistcally against strikers he is very powerful, i see him top 10 this year

Maybe he would, i agree with you that Gastelum has very underrated boxing for MMA and is not scared of getting into exchanges. The downside is he is quite alot smaller than Whittaker, who also has pretty good kicks and is just an overall beast at MW.

Gastulrm would finish marreta. Gas got that iron chin, beast hands, cardio. If gas can afd leg kicks and ju jutsu defense, he would be unstoppable.

Listen, we all love Robert, but the reality is that the only way anyone at 170/185 is gonna beat Kelvin is to use grappling to throw off his rhythm and possibly get him down to the mat like Chris.

Guys who try to get into striking exchanges with him are doomed, and that includes Whittaker.

At 170 + 185, Kelvin is the best boxer, moves the quickest, and has the best chin. His timing is also impeccable.

Jacare has a good chance because of his grappling, but Kelvin will kill Whittaker if he gets past Souza.
hahaha
