His striking is so elite, I can't wait for his next fight, don't blink.
really informative thread
So elite that Frankenstein nearly put him out
Don't get too excited his shelf life is seriously close to being up
If we don't blink our eyes will dry out and we'll go blind. Can we come to some sort of middle ground on this?
Says he's watched some of his kickboxing matches, doesn't provide any links to said kickboxing matches.
Too elite even for this thread
He is fighting Rountree next, should be able to beat him. Rountree is a step down from Da Silva, and much lower ranked. Kinda weird match making but I guess they want to build him up for UFC fans and see some big KO's
Are you really gonna sit here and act like his striking isn't elite?
He's easily the best striker in the UFC right now
It's elite in a kickboxing setting
This is MMA kid
Eventually someone will take him down and beat the shit out of him.
Then his striking will become tentative and he’ll be very vulnerable standing as well.
Watch him easily outstrike Ubereem until he gets his arm broken by a guy 40 pounds heavier. Can't believe how long ago that was.
Remember Remmy and Hoost? I do.
Dude was a legit KB, but seems like he could go down to MW, he gassed too quickly imo, not championship level fighter but pretty sure can deliver some good fights against right matchups.
But K1 Hughes was alot better
Honestly he's good and he looked great but mma striking is different. There's a reason top strikers in other sports get KO'ed by MMA noob strikers at times. That's because the threat of a takedown adds an extra element.
he was getting tagged in his debut
What's up with being rude about it?
"kid", I've had an account here as long as you. I'm 28 years old. You don't think I'm aware this is MMA?
Fuck off asshole.
I'm pretty confident nobody at 205 is going to out strike Saki. He will likely lose, but not from strikes.
If he does, shit happens. 4oz gloves. He' still easily the best striker in the UFC right now.
He hasn’t fought in 2 years and got tired in a fight he was dominating and still finished in the 1st. Not a good indicator of where he’ll be cardiowise when the next fight rolls around
Guy is legit as they come. I was honestly pretty impressed with his takedown defense against Frankenstein. I realize the Brazilian was not a good wrestler, but it was Gokhan's instincts that impressed me- immediately digging for underhooks and angling off. Footwork can be the best takedown defense sometimes (see Aldo).
Someone find that gif of Gokhan tripling-up strikes off the lead hand. Beautiful shit.
His striking is not elite
Not even close to elite
