JRE Mma #51 with Deontay Wilder

Fury gave up 2 10-8 rounds. He wasn't so dominant in the other 10 that he can say it wasn't close.

That's what people don't understand. For reference, if Pacquiao had gotten two knockdowns against Floyd (of course depending on whether or not it was a round he won or round that Floyd won), he could have either WON or gotten a draw. And Fury wasn't as dominant as Mayweather.

10 10-9s vs 2 10-8s

Meaning the rounds where barely anything happened, that could have gone either way, because of your bias, you gave them to Fury.

rogan's boxing knowledge seems so sparse and so deep at the same time. he'll pull out some domestic british fighter reference from the late 80's then say some retarded shit about no one in boxing caring about cruiserweights and how all klitschko did was jab and hold.

Deontay humble AF, how can you hate on him

Definitely not 90%. A majority? Yes. But a majority of people were actually rooting for Tyson, so that's irrelevant. The amount of people that agree with you has no correlation to the truth.

If you look at the punch stats, they were close every round, within five or six punches of each other. So if you combine that with the fact that Wilder's punches may have appeared to be more damaging via power, it's not crazy to assume he won some of those rounds. Count the knockdown rounds as 10-8 rounds (like most of the judges did), and Wilder would only have to have won two of those other rounds to have gotten a victory. Having it close for Wilder or close for Fury, or a draw, is reasonable. Having it a dominant win for Tyson Fury and calling the decision is a robbery is biased and unreasonable.

Yeah, that's the real inspirational story. If Wilder was depressed and addicted to cocaine, people here would just be calling him a crackhead, and find some way to make Fury out to be the good guy (like lying about the fact that he hadn't fought in three years, when he's had 2 fights in 2018, Wilder had one).
7 of the 9 rounds Fury outlanded Wilder, it was by 1 punch or 2.
Very close fight.

Or you're just going with the masses and hype.
We could go back to 1978 and the last time the round system was used in Ali/Spinks 2 if you want another way to score it than the 10 point must system that's been around in the US since 1956

Its strange to see MMA people say Wilder lost. Man he KO'd Fury out cold. That would've been followed up with GnP in a fight. Yeah Fury outpointed him without damage, so what?

He got up and continued the round, one round doesn't dictate the fight and who cares about hypotheticals ? In most 'real fight' scenarios, GNP isn't even a thing...easier just to kick someone in the head. Mute point.

Why wouldn't it dictate the fight? What are 10-9 rounds compared to a knockdown or a KO in a real fight? 10-9 rounds doesn't mean anything in a fight so it would be more fair to see it as 10-10.

Definitely not 90%.

He’s a fucking idiot.

Do I really even have to address this? The fact that you'd even insinuate a poll on Sherdog of all places represents a majority of boxing fans, or even a small fraction of them, is laughable. Most of the people on Sherdog don't follow boxing closely. And most of the people who follow boxing closely in a general sense haven't ever even heard of Sherdog.

Its "America is the world" syndrome pretty much. HW division was "dead" from Lennox/Tyson until a week ago apparently, cruiser division would go from "dead" to "on fire" if Usyk, Gassiev, Briedis et al were American.

Why are you talking to us then?

Sherdog itself is one of the more international forums, even though it's based in the USA. It's also one of the biggest forums outside of actual social media sites.

"Most of the people on sherdog" didnt vote, only 0.04% of sherdog voted so presumably these are the boxing fans....after all this poll was posted in the boxing subforum.
