For those that know and love the Metal Gear Solid series, he voiced Solidus in MGS2.
And in the KOTOR games, he voiced Canderous.
I have a thing for voices, and he had one of the most distinct voices I've ever heard.
He was the one voice actor in MGS2 that was of the quality of MGS1's voice cast, and he was a worthy successor to Cam Clarke's Liquid as the MGS2 main villian.
And he was one of the best voice actors on the KOTOR games as well. I remember when Canderous made his first appearance and halfway through his first line, I said 'Solidus!'
He died on May 13th, due to cancer, at the age of 63.
I was watching a fan-made machinima movie and the first line of the credits was 'In Memory of John Cygan.' I checked his wiki and it was true.
The only gaming websites I now see to have mention his passing was Otaku and IGN. Massive fails by the rest of gaming media.
One of the few interviews he did in relation to the MGS series.
An awesome tribute from a youtuber that John Cygan's performances inspired him to go into voiceovers.
And a small bit of every voice performance he's credited for.
R.I.P.... he will be missed.
