John Carmack And Samsung Have Hinted At Big Things Coming To VR

Is Carmack no longer at Occulus? If not I guess I shouldn’t be all that surprised after Facebook lost half a billion in that law suit to Bethesda because of him.

No he is still at Oculus now called Facebook research he is heading up the group developing stuff like eye tracking and performance optimizations for mobile devices. He wants to focus his efforts in squeezing the most performance out of handheld devices such as Oculus Go.

Oh, so is this two separate announcements independent of each other? One from Carmack/Oculus and one from Samsung?

Ok, but part of the verdict was copyright infringement. The court found that Carmack had copied his code that he developed at id and reused it at Oculus. Zenimax’s expert witness reached that conclusion and the jury agreed. Carmack disputes it.
