Not only that, but at HW, when someone outweighs you by 40lbs, it doesn't matter how much of a "can" they are, you still run the risk of losing everything with one punch.

For this comparison to be fair, DJ would fight 2 fights a year against regular contenders, and in addition to that, would fight 2-3 cans at WW and MW, where he could be ended with one punch, no matter how skilled he is.

Ya i wasn't saying he was always facing bigger men. He was comparable to the guys in Pride. But the Grand Prix was ridiculous.

It seems Fedor went from steroids to nothing at all, when all these guys jumped on the TRT wagon.

One issue seems to be that he switched his training focus somewhat when he left Russian Top Team for Red Devil, at the former he was more of a power fighter focusing a lot on his GnP, at the latter he seemed to drop the weight work and focus more on his standup and general speed.

You look at Fedor vs Crocop in 2005 and he's definitely lost some of the muscle he had vs Nog in 2003, the belly hides some of it but his arms and sholders are definitely smaller.

In the end I think it was a mix of getting past his physical best and simply losing motivation, especially when he'd beaten the best UFC names of his era and the Barnett fight fell though. The end result was turning up in less good shape, slopper technically and with a lower fight IQ, the earlier Fedor did blast though certain opponents but he didn't try to blast though Nog and Crocop.

Bigfoot was a horrible can, even when he was on trt, he's always been wrecked badly by the top fighters he faced, his only good dominating win was Fedor, where he beat the shit out of the russian. Overeem was toying with him and got ko-d because he got too cocky. Travis Browne blew his knee in the first round and the fight was about to be stopped even before the tko, the referee blew it.
