Damn there was no fluke that this fight only length one minute.I’ve rewatch this fight plenty of timed and i would have been afraid for any fighters to face him

Cain landed nothing except a leg kick while JDS landed at least five punches in the first minute including this massive right overhand that throw Cain to the floor. Prime Fedor or Modern Miocic wouldn’t get the better of 2011’s JDS

Fedor - boxing, sambo, brutal GnP, subs...

Stipe - boxing, grappling, decent GnP...

JDS - boxing...

Sorry.

Once JDS lost confidence in his hands he was never the same. Also, Cain admitted that he followed Rogan's plan of mixing up kicks with punches instead of pressure and wrestling which was not very smart.

You are over simplifying things. It depends on how good you are at your specialisation and if you can get your opponent to play your game. JDS also has good TDD.

I think its more that Cain showed he was vunerable to being backed up, didn't really have a strong counter game and tended to fall back upright in straight lines.

Pretty much every single JDS fight(maybe bar Reem) since then opponents have done this to him, hasn't always worked but it had made him look more vulnerable even when winning.

Loved me some Pre-Cain II & III JDS. USADA was never his friend either

I admit I was pretty sure he had Cains # and after the first bout was pretty happy. But that must have been the perfect storm for him cause Cain took part of Junior's soul.

Those were some spectacular beatings and quite beautiful.

I am over simplifying for a reason. I am pointing out that Fedor and Stipe have more weapons in their bags. JDS was (he has since added a couple kicks) a one trick pony. It was a GREAT trick, but just one trick nonetheless.

True.

But Fedor in his prime and Stipe today do as well. I was trying to highlight offensive ability, as these guys can end it in one second with their offense. Point stands - One needs multiple ways to win to handle multiple types of opponents... This is what being a mixed martial artist entails. JDS would be in major trouble on the mat with Fedor or Stipe. And if they clinched? Forget it. Fedor sambos his ass to hell.

So JDS beat up many dangereous guy. Prime Cain had the best of him but this guy also left a lot on his fights against Miocic and Overeem

Pre-Cain JDS was a force of nature. His dismantling of Carwin was awesome, and I say this as a Carwin fan.

JDS was legit, but Cain actually came back stronger than ever to avenge the loss whereas JDS never recovered.

The run he went on ending with KOing Cain was fucking incredible, so much violence

Honestly of all the "what if" fights between the big name HW's down the years I think Fedor/JDS prime vs prime is the one I'd be most confident in predicting, Fedor's hustling style would be terrible for Jnr IMHO plus he's harder to hit than Cain at range.

JDS was amazing. He was also a great example of how it is possible to be a top 3 mma fighter with only good standup And tdd.

Yes absolutely and when he rematched Cain, all of a sudden he was no longer dangerous and he was waaaay out of his prime because otherwise he would have won in 1 minute! </sarcasm>

JDS is still a very dangerous fighter but the two rematches against Cain took away a lot from him. If you don't think the first fight was a fluke you must be truly delusional.
