shud've used a real person.
I'm surprised everyone is making such a big deal about the eyes.
Yeah, they're weird, but the whole character is weird. She's a machine.
I know, right? The bigger faux pas is Ido not having the mark of Tiphares! WTF is up wit dat?
What I love about the trailer is that it looks like they got her fighting style right. Oh, I'm pumped!
I'm just hoping this does well enough that Dark Horse will do a reprint of the whole series. I've wanted to buy it but most of it is OOP.
Interesting; the uncanny valley works because it appears the human characters are slightly in awe/confused by her appearance too, like everybody else in this thread. She's supposed to look very real, yet not totally human. I'll be seeing it upon release.
I'm a huge fan of the Alita manga, but they're adapting what is probably the weakest portion of it. Plus, I don't think Cameron or Rodriquez make movies that appeal to me any more. Probably won't see it unless it's on Netflix.
I always felt "Motorball" would have been the best entry point.
She is an anime broad
You mean "motorboat"
Arrest this pervert.
Not gonna lie, was gonna make a comment about the creepy eyes, then finished the trailer and it looks like it has potential to be pretty cool.
They have special contact lenses and make-up tutorials for giving a normal person anime eyes, so who the FUCK thought it was necessary to create this CGI monstrosity. Especially when no one else on the entire fucking planet (or two) seems to have the same fucking aesthetic. Then they didn't even slim down the nose which helps offset the huge fucking eyes.
I can't believe that with those two directors and that cast and the amazing established story behind this movie that one extremely poor decision might derail the entire thing.
But then it would have been Ghost in the shell, which was AI, which was Matrix.
The verdict's in....
Da fuck is up with those eyes?.................
Yeah, that's a definite skip from me. Btw, where the hell is Jessica Alba?
This looks different, interesting and cool. What's the problem.
I actually don't mind the uncanny valley eyes. In some weird way, it fits the character.
Also, this looks fucking cool and the music choice is spot on. I never thought I'd see the day where I would be excited for an anime based movie.
Yeah, looks kind of ridiculous. I hate that everything's going 'green screen'. Would like to see someone do something with actual props and so on. Actually build/create something. I mean, look at the original Terminator for example -they actually built a full frame metal skeleton. And that was back in the fucking 80's.
This new shit looks like mixing cartoon with live action. To me, it just looks bad.
They built it because they didn't have cgi.
