You're naming skill positions though (those examples are still amazing). Now tell me about the 40 year old running back who is still at the top of their game.
Also those guys started playing that sport before their physical prime and right through it, allowing them to maximally hone their ability.
Part of the TS's point is that Yoel started super late and was already out of prime when developing his skills aside from wrestling.
Fighters peak at different ages.
Lennox Lewis was born in 1965
Mike Tyson was born in 1966.
Even though Lewis is younger it was Tyson who was champ in the mid 80s winning the belt at merely 20, Lewis became unified champ in 1999, 13 years later.
The point is, fighters peak differently.
Yoel had not yet fought in MMA at 31, so he didn't have the sparring miles typical of a 31 year old fighter nor did he have the experience.
It is a shame that shitty matchmaking has deprived us of matches between the most talented group of MW ladies the sport has ever seen...
But even if Yoel is past his absolute fighting peak, he is pretty damn close still. He still has speed, power and explosiveness that 99% of fighters never had on their best day.
His best performances could be over or could be yet to come, we will see.
