It sucks that we have to waste our lives earning a living

Even if I was a trust fund baby and never had to work a day in my life.. I'd still work in some capacity. I'd feel like a useless human if didn't find something of value or service to do for others.

I don't think everyone would be fit and strong if we didn't have work.

I think the opposite would happen excess leisure time would lead to sedentary lifestyles and over eating more diabetic obese people.

Dude if everyone could do all those things you would have so much competition.

Also the world's going towards something like that with Artificial intelligence, 3d printing, etc. We might have machines doing most of the work in the future. Your son might benefit.

Yeah sure. I would like for food, shelter, mma gloves, cable TV and cars to just be teleported to us freely without having to build them.

Without purpose most people won't do shit.
They will sit on their asses, eat cheetos, and watch TV.
Most people need something to get them up out pf bed every day, and for most, that would be a job

The real issue over the past few decades is that almost all of the increases in productivity have gone into the pockets of the very rich.

Every time there's a huge technological advance it opens the door for small companies to become very successful very quickly. All you need is the capital and expertise to complete the task.

Even if you're not doing something new, you can become middle-class level wealthy with small service businesses.

It's not easy and there's risk but the opportunity is certainly there.

That a small percentage of people can join the ranks of the rich doesn't really disprove my claim though, plus social mobility has been on the decline in most western coutnries for decades with the rise of neoliberalism.

It's instilled in most of us since birth that we have to go to school, find a job, and then work diligently for someone until retirement just to live a normal in homeostasis without creating multi-generational wealth. So people do just that because it's safe and just enough to live a dopamine fulled happy existence.

If you can do something very few people are actively doing and there's a market for it. Do it and make your fortune.

I know a few people with genius level IQ's making $70k and working their hearts out creating proof of concept research and development designs. I also know someone who's a highly functioning alcoholic whose business easily burns through $50k a week with only five fairly low paid employees doing low level mechanical production work. Guess which one of those guys will leave an empire to his children?

You can do all of those things quiet easily with a job

Really?

I work 50 hours a week at my job and I’m a parent. I can get to the gym maybe 3 times a week and I’m in decent shape.

But I’m also a dad which makes it tough.

I play guitar and Ukelele and I’m okay but not amazing.

I don’t mean just keeping healthy and having hobbies, we can definitely make time for that. I mean having the time to practice to be elite and passionate.

It’s not easy.

I’m grateful to have a good job and a nice home and a son. I know most of he world is struggling compared to us.

But if we lived in a world where we didn’t have to work or provide, we could spend all our time achieving our goals.

1. Physical fitness. Everyone could be lean, ripped and strong if they weren’t exhausted from the office.

2. Art and music. Everyone could play multiple instruments, be amazing at dancing, singing.

3. Sports- you could find out how amazing you really could be at all the sports you love.

4. Sex- We could be sleeping with beautiful women every day.

So much of our life is wasted in the struggle for food and shelter, although not as much as Neanderthal man.

It pisses me of that the MAN says I can't raise chickens and pigs in the suburbs. As for your topic, if we are ONLY taking about food and shelter I can get behind you about shelte. It pisses me off I make way too much to get subsidize apt. * I don't give much of a shit about minute differences between one apt and another as long as they're clean. I don't wanna get a mortgage unless the house is way out in the country under 100k.

Food is more complex and requires too much altruism to not be pay out of pocket. Especially if you want good food and not the band crap they serve in even the best resort in Cuba.

Too bad you weren't born in the future when the robots have taken over our jobs. Still, I'm guessing you would do none of the above and just be a fat slob eating junk food and watching porn. There are people who do all of the above and still work a full time job.

What in the actual hell? Have you not noticed that the people who actually do those things have jobs, and it turns out the people who don't work actually spend their time doing drugs, eating junk food and impregnating bottom of the barrel chicks?

Cracks me up when people post shit like this lmao

It’s like, well go ahead and do it nothing is stopping y’all if it’s that important

It's pointless to lead an existence that seeks only to fulfill our hedonistic endeavors.

People get bored as shit when they have all that free time.
