Is he a bad president? It’s too early to tell still. But even if he turns out to be not too bad, it’s not because he has great ideas, or leadership abilities. Part of it is that the president doesn’t have as much an effect on the economy or your day to day lives as you would think. The other part of it is that he is so ineffective that he couldn’t destroy the US even if he wanted to. He has the attention span of a fruit fly.

Completely agree. Trump is nowhere near intelligent enough to do any real damage... He is making America great in one aspect though. Our special council game and checks and balances game will be on point going forward.
 
As someone that did business with one of his groups I can tell you I despise the guy. They basically "complained" that we finished the work ahead of schedule as their reason for not wanting to pay us the full contract amount. Then dragged it out until it basically became more expedient to accept a little over 50 cents on the dollar just to get it settled. Then had the balls to solicit us for another bid and acted indigent that we didn't want to work with them again. Never met the man myself but I do work with someone that did during the 90's where he said Trump didn't like the findings in a Phase II environmental report to the point that he didn't like the summary of the report so he dropped the company and hired someone else to produce a report more to his liking. So from a business perspective I don't care from him.
From a personal standpoint, I don't like narcissistic braggadocious people, hell I don't even like people that do touchdown dances, act like you've been there before. Trump was notorious for driving his own media machine calling in newspapers as an anonymous source pumping himself up, he created an official release from women that "he was the best sex ever" and this was before social media, Trump was made for the age of twitter.
From a political standpoint, at best he's just another cog in the machine that hasn't done anything more than any other neocon republican, at worst he seems to be someone that doesn't even have a grasp on basic civics let alone how to function as an elected government official.

I will say the guy is a hell of a saleman and he definitely knows how to market. Anything else though I am highly dubious. Had Trump legitimately hired "only the best" I think he could have been very successful since they could have done the thinking and he could have done the selling. Unfortunately he appears to be his own worst enemy.

I disagree that he can't do real damage. I would also point out that now that he has established the type, someone with more brains could try to do the same thing.

I’m not so sure, but hope you are right, on both accounts. I mean, I don’t think you have to be super smart to damage the country, or world, in a significant way when you have all the influence of the presidency at your disposal. As incapable as he is, he may still be able to do that. He just hasn’t been able to yet.

Additionally, people need to be able to draw the distinction between Hillary voters and genuine Hillary supporters.

Half the people who voted for Clinton didn't fucking like her. Look at how she collapsed in the favorability polling after the election in 2016. She has consistently polled worse than Trump throughout his presidency in spite of all of his buffoonery.

A significant percentage of her support came from people who didn't think that there was another viable option to Trump or the GOP.

The actual diehard Clinton supporters are a tiny constituency comprised exclusively of people from two groups 1) Democratic party insiders who continue to suck up to the Clintons because it suits future political/financial prospects and 2) shut ins who sit on Twitter all day long ranting about how Bernie Sanders and anybody who is left of center politically are a bunch of misogynists who didn't want to see a female POTUS.
