More officers on the street wouldn't have stopped those crimes, banning certain types of knives wouldn't have stopped them either (it's long been illegal to carry a knife over 3inches in public with no good reason). Certain communities need to sort their shit out. These kids killing each other will find a way no matter what you ban.

When restriction of knives doesn't work, they'll ban social media (another common target in the blame game) and when that doesn't work they'll move onto the next proposed ban.

Labour likes to shout about the lack of police but it’s clear to see povery which in turn leads to gang violence is the real issue. Being such an expensive place to live gives such a small chance of ever makings it out of the gutter. Throw in a ton of immigrants and you have the perfect storm to breed violence and crime.

Waiting on a ban on all person ownership or rentals of cars and trucks. Only heavily monitored public transportation or government licensed businesses with heavy background checks and oversight.

This one's probably a bad example, since they could have legitimately just kicked his ass, even with the screwdriver. (Why risk it though?) But there's tons of examples of guys with knives getting dusted by police.
