I get the whole message of working hard to get where you want to be in life. But even when she says something positive it comes out of her mouth in a negative way.
For instance, the Don't be a Do nothing Bit** phrase. The message is meant to be positive but the way she puts it is very negative.

And just her attitude and behavior in general is usually negative and most of the time her comments and behavior are very disrespectful to her opponents.
I respect Ronda's skill, hard work and her dedication. But in my opinion those are the only positive things about her. Her attitude is terrible. I'm surprised she doesn't talk about herself in the third person as much as she loves to talk about how amazing she is.

Not to mention the many hypocritical things she says. For instance, when she blasted Meisha for posing in magazines half nude, then she goes on to do the same damn thing. I love Holly Holm's attitude, and many of the women in WMMA but Ronda seems to have the worst attitude in all of WMMA and in the top 5 worst attitudes in the UFC period. In my opinion, a Great Athlete with a Horrible Attitude does not equal a Great Role Model.

Would you want your daughter to have Ronda's attitude? I'm not talking about her success, I mean her attitude. I know I wouldn't.

Its just my opinion and I've been wrong before, but I just cant help but feel this way.

PS. I have to add that I did really like her for about two minutes and that was when she went off on the NSAC about Nick Diaz and her PRO Marijuana Stance.

Don't consider any fighter a good role model. If she has any value in that sense it is for what she has done, not who she is.

Only If you think winning, trendsetting, and popularity are the most important things for your children to look up to.

Not really. Nothing against Ronda, but put the shoe on the other foot. If a male athlete who was considered a "role model" was talking about sex and lube and what not, he would be labeled a pervert.

I'm paraphrasing what Charles Barkley once said when he basically said that "these athletes are not supposed to be role models. They're not supposed to raise your kids, you are. They are paid athletes." Take that for what it's worth.

I don't think so, but then again, I don't think fighters need to be good role models.

I dont believe in "role models". If you got kids, YOU teach them. Its not our job.

For the most part Ronda's a damn decent role model. Is she perfect? HELL NO, she's human just like the rest of us. But when you are choking on a sea of the Trash-dashian Tribe I'd say Rou$ey at least aspires to be best at what she does.

And not just famous just because of shopping or famous for making a sex tape. Anyone with a kitty can do that .

THIS IS AMERICA!!! HOW DARE YOU EXPECT ME TO RAISE MY OWN KIDS! Insert Race bait, poor person/rich person here.

She needs to show better sportsmanship.

Your absolutely right about the Male Athlete scenario. And as far as the Barkley comment, I do agree. But Ronda is being promoted as a Role Model for young Girls and young Women.

Who wants their kid growing up to be an immature shit talker with anger issues?

My niece (15) is crazy about Ronda and yes she serves as a good role model, because at the end of the day whether you like her or not, Ronda IS a trendsetter and a tremendously hard worker. Only hardcores tend to scrutinize everything Ronda says to find some bits of negativity, the vast majority of casual fans see a dominant female fighter that exudes a lot of confidence.

I would rather my niece look up to Ronda Rousey than Kim Kardashian or any of those hags on The View that's for damn sure.

Ronda's attitude doesn't bother me one bit....she's a fighter. Most fighters carry some type of arrogance or mean attribute..which is pretty essential if you plan on being on the top.

If Conor and Ronda had and raised a baby, it would grow up all manners of fucked up.

Not at all. She says dumb shit and is extremely judgemental.
I applaud her achievements in the sports and work ethic but I don't value the things she says too much. She's an hypocrite.

I do Respect Ronda Rousey. But I don't like her, lol.

This is my attitude as well.

If I had a daughter in martial arts. I could see encouraging her to emulate Rousey's drive and competitiveness, but not her poor (or at least inconsistent) sportsmanship.

Of course she isn't, she's a shitty human being, I'd want my kids to look up to someone who's humble, honorable, respectful, and a nice person.

ronda is all of those if you are the same she hasn't said 1 bad thing about holly and has been respectful this whole build up and she was nice and cordial towards mcmann, zingano and alexis davis

but when girls like tate and bethe talk major shit they deserve some back

I raise my own for sure. And I try and teach my daughter to be humble and respectful and to work hard and follow her dreams and all of the other things we are supposed to teach them.

But I'm referring to Ronda being Marketed and Promoted as a Role Model.

The fact that one has to ask IF she's a good role model should tell you that NO, she is not a great roll model. There are plenty of other female athletes who have worked hard to get where they're at, WITHOUT all the drama.
