If you want really good info, head over to the active military thread on the War Room forum. Ask as much as you want.

Somewhat fair, but if I were you I'd try to get in as an officer. That way you aren't used as fodder... at least not as often. I have no experience in the army, but I have seen MOVIES, which are just as good as field experience.

Sign up for 3 years and see if you like it. If you have any collage education then you can actually get a signing Bonus. Good money in the Military right now. There is that whole deployment thing to War torn areas however.

First off, if you don't like it after you're in, you can let it be known and they'll bounce you out with a regular discharge, you'll just have to give back any bonus and such. If you don't want to be in there, they don't want you to be in there. You definitely DON'T want to "do drugs to get out", because they not only might give you some time in prison, but they will also give you a dishonorable discharge which will fuck you over for the rest of your life. No one will hire a guy who was dishonorably discharged.

I was thinking about it, and maybe picking up some of those economic courses in university or trying to get into the Royal Military College, but decided against it.

if you really are considering this , get a college degree first and take the officers test. Dont listen to these fools and join thinking your gonna be gun ho, semper fi and go on a killing spree thinkin your the man. I dont know how it is today but back during Vietnam if you signed you were fucked. The gov rarely followed through with that GI deal, and most vets came back and had it worse than they did overseas.

I just finished my four in the marines. Now my state will pay for my tuition and my GI bill is just money in my pocket. My advice, make it a personal decision, don't let a bunch of other peoples opinions sway yours whichever it may be.
