Is it possible for a guy that is DJ's size

Yes. It's an underrepresented weight class in very young sport and he's just far ahead of the competition today.

There was a time when people thought Ronda was some sort of unstoppable phenom. She was then soundly whupped by Holly Holm who, it turns out, isn't very good either.

Does the same go for BW? Because we've seen that several of MM's opponents (and MM himself) were top BWs or beat FlyWs who moved up and became top BWs despite giving up a significant amount of size. If you're going to devalue FlyW like that, you necessarily have to do the same to BW.

Yes. Somebody will come along who is more optimally sized for the weight class. I have a feeling it will be a specialist who beats DJ (e.g. a boxer), and not somebody with a skillset like his.

What kind of revisionist history BS is this? Nobody thought Ronda was unbeatable just stupid casuals and UFC shills. She never fought a striker as good as Holm or Nunes and you saw what happened. Wasn't surprised mfer

She beat the best there was until holly came around.

To say only casuals thought she was unstoppable at the time is ridiculous

I actually want to see him fight Borg, Moreno & Bibulatov. He has more challengers than people think. If he beats all those guys & Uncle Creepy aint ready for their trilogy by then, then it's more than time to go up.

The only sport in the world with a physical restriction.

A physical restriction where the whole sport revolves around being physical.

Imagine NBA with a height restriction. NFL with weight restriction.

Nobody would watch either of these sports if next year there was a height cap of 5ft3 and a weight cap of 90lbs.

nah, you're just dumb lol

If you're talking about weight classes, MMA isn't the only sport in the world that has them. Boxing, bodybuilding and arm wrestling come to mind as fellow "restricted" sports.

The only one?
How do you function?

nah, you're just dumb lol

Do you know what all those sports have in common? They are for the same type of person

Some kid who got bullied at school by the superior physical specimen so he takes up lifting or fighting to bridge the gap. Then they make shitty restrictions in the future so they have a chance against the better man.

Real sports don't have physical restrictions.

Oh, I wasn't talking about you, Champ, everyone knows you're special :)

I meant stupid casuals and UFC shills like Jack Slack, for example, who directly prior to Holm didn't think there was anyone in the division with the skillset to beat her.

So it is with DJ, and so it will remain until one day it isn't and he'll lose. And on that day every dribbler in town will be claiming that they weren't surprised :)

Apart from the numerous other sports with weight classes. Also pretty much all sports have a gender restriction which is a form of physical restriction.

And I'd definitely watch midget basketball tbf.

You are literally lying out of your ass. Females can play in any league. They just suck.

There's a tension between your theory about who competes in those sports and the rationale you specify for having weight classes: if it's the people who were bullied who take them up, the superior physical specimens won't be in the same of line of work, so there's no need for anything to protect against them. Not that I think you're right. While I'm sure some MMA fighters were bullied in school, I find it very easy to imagine others doing the bullying. Even within the same weight class.

you're obviously trolling

but you're not witty or funny so idk why you are wasting your time

Well he has only lost 2 fights and they were both at Bantamweight.. Cruz and Pickett

He did lose against McCall at flyweight imo, but the judges gave it a draw, but no way it was a draw, McCall basically finished him in the 3rd round.

First split-decision with Joe Benavidez was so close, could have gone either way.
I agree on the McCall fight.

If he wants more money & respect, he should move up to 135 and back it up.
