Is it just me or did Sage Northcutt look like a world beater?

UFC trying to come up with marketable fighters that both men and women will find interesting. Like Paige or Ronda is nothing new but Sage is easily the most embarrassing and obvious attempt at this since I can remember, its just so forced and the guy is just not that good.

Just before you say “give him time” think about the legions of young, short, explosive kids that don’t look like a Ken doll that also deserve “time” to develop and don’t get it because they don’t look like Justin timberbieber or whatever the fuck his name is.

To top this off, I heard this guy in an interview and he seems nice and innocent but let’s just say he could read a book from time to time.

He reads his bible daily, mr. boxingmma.

The guys Sage has beat in the UFC have a combined UFC record of 2-9, the last 3 have been cut and the one he beat on Saturday is 0-2 now and probably will be cut too.

His takedowns actually looked really improved. He started training with Uriah and team Alpha Male so it shouldn't be a surprise

Just you, he couldn't finish a guy that just came off a TKO loss to no name and will probably get cut. It's pretty easy to look good against not ufc level guys, Mickey Gall looked like a monster against CM Punk and even Sage, look what happened when Gall fough someone half decent.
Gall looked like a monster against Sage? Did you watch that fight? Sage beat the shit out of him until Gall got him to the ground submitted him. Sage won almost the whole fight until the end

Lightning fast stand up. All he needs is TDD and a ground game and he can be a champ within a few years. Training at team alpha male was the best choice for someone like him. He needs a killer scramble game. Now its all up to the UFC to play their cards right and build him up super slow.

What do you think?

he has a glass chin though...that will never be fixed...and he has no heart...which has already been shown...the moment the fight gets difficult, he folds. We've also seen this happen.

Nah it's just you

Not hard to look good when you are facing cans in the UFC. Yeah, UFC does have cans nowadays.

Easy to look like a world beater when you're fighting someone who doesn't have a wikipedia page.

Improved? Sure. Let me know when he beats someone the UFC plans to keep around though. So far he's beating one and doners and there are thousands of prospects that can do that.

Its just you. Im still a fan of his, and Mickey Galls, too. They should only fight newcomers

If he's lacking in TDD and ground skills he's not a world beater brah.

Guy is spoon fed. Pretty boy that new ufc owners tried to promote till he got whooped up on by a nobody

He is good at utilizing his strengths.
But he panics a little to fast.

He does keep improving which is the most important

People need to remember that Sage is 21 years old and has 11 fights in total.

When Robert Whittaker was 21 he was getting submitted in the 1st round by some chinese cab driver called Hoon Kim.

Anderson had not even made his debut when he was 21.

Conor was getting submitted in seconds by several people.

I want to see him vs Erick Silva at 170.

Two top prospects and only one winner, headliner for 219 for sure.

Are you sure Silva is ready for something like that? He might be too green still. Maybe give him the Young Assassin instead?

He couldn't finish a hand picked 45'er coming off a loss. Yeah..."world beater. It looked like a sparring session, and not an interesting one at that.

Inb4 white knight's.

That was definitely his most professional performance so far. Quinones has looked awful in his ufc tenure though.
