Job market is crazy right now, so easy to get a job.

Movies and TV are bringing in a ton of money due to low taxes and nice location and etc, probably kicked off with The Walking Dead and Adult Swim

"The industry generated an economic impact of more than $7 billion in the Peach State during the last fiscal year, Gov. Nathan Deal announced Tuesday. Just more than $2 billion of that represented direct spending from 245 feature film and TV productions shot in Georgia during fiscal 2016."

Yes, for an extra dollar you can get "in God we trust" on your license plate---which I have

Liberals have not ruined the state.

Minimal amount of SJW assholes.

You got your places for weirdos at little 5 points (which is a cool little place)

Some really nice nature shit and mountains and all that.

Lots of people from out of state moving here. I have met so many people who recently moved here from just about every state.

And the old specter of racism is pretty diminished. There is this county called Forsyth. Back in the 80s you only ever heard of it because a KKK rally was being held.
Now, it is high end and lots of almost hipsterish nice little places. There are still some good old boys but in small numbers.
As far as black white collar work goes, I don't think a city provides more opportunities than Atlanta.

I'd say racism is really not an issue just with people in general anymore. And the hillbilly level is really much lower---at least where I am.

Shit, the town I live in made it in Time magazine top 50 best places to live.

Telling you now, you want to just move and start shit all over, this is the state.

I believe Georgia is one of the states with the best film tax incentives. Alabama and Louisiana is up there too.

The most up and coming? I don't know.

According to the US Census, Georgia was number 7 for population change from 2015 to 2016.

In 2015, Georgia had the 10th best GDP in the country.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Georgia is tired at 43rd for Unemployment rate.

All in all Georgia looks like it's a pretty good state, but I don't know if I would crown it the best.

Darien Long's Mall Security Youtube Vids lead me to believe otherwise.

Welcome to Atlanta where the players play.

Is atlanta decent to live in?
Atlanta is a fun city. Tons of things to do: theater, live music, museums, loads of parks, state parks, and pretty much anything else you may find fun or interesting.

Negatives include horrible traffic and crazy weather.

Pros--other than the fun activities--are all the beautiful women(most of which have nice booties), and it's relatively inexpensive.

If you're gay, there is a thriving homosexual community as well. Con for me, as I'm hit on by dudes more than I have cute women flirt with me, but it could be a benefit for others.

There are getto places in atlanta you don't want to be. But there are nice suburbs, and while traffic sucks, it is nothing compared to NYC traffic.
And I think the drivers suck because they drive slow---with so many 65 and 70 mph zones they barely push that limit, people don't really use the shoulder to get around a person turning left, at a light when it turns green people are slow as fuck to get started, and when people don't know where the hell they are going they will stop in the middle of the fucking street.

Yes, ton of hot women with southern accents and dress in very little due to the heat

Seems very hot down there.

yeah, summers are hot as fuck and that is really a downer. It does not snow much and the answer to snow is to litterally shut everything down. the whole one day a year you get two inches of snow, but you can usually chill in shorts during christmas.

PS i just drove by two hot lesbos holding hands....i didn't want to come inbetween them . . . ODI???

Atlanta is actually too COLD for me now. I got used to the tropical climate where I live now. If I were going to move to GA, it'd probably be somewhere warmer along the coast like Savannah. I'm looking into selling my condo and buying a single-family house, but staying in South Florida. I bet I could get a nice house for my price point in GA, though.

This is what it looks like right before the Democrats ruin it.

Hmmm....I wonder if Savannah would be warming because it is by the coast which usually cools things down. Honestly I wear a jacket---like a wind breaker maybe a week out of the year due to coldness. It is really fall, spring , summer 1, and summer2.

One of my favorite fighters comes form Georgia.

When you are at the bottom, you can only go up. Then again I live in the Mississippi of the west...

I love Atlanta but it's not like a "city" city if that makes sense. I read an article once that put it best "Atlanta is city for people who are afraid to get out of their cars". It's very sprawling and unwalkable. You're not gonna live in Buckhead and walk to do something in Midtown like the way any other cities work. MARTA is pretty much the most useless public transportation system in America. Unless you work in the city you have no real advantage to living there over being in the suburbs because it's practically just as easy to drive into the city as it is to commute within it. Aside from that though it's a great city with almost everything you could want.

As far as the rest of the state goes it is great. I'm in the suburbs about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. I've had 4 movies want to film where I work in the last 18 months. My mom bought a historical house in a downtown area in 2012 in hopes of renovating it and moving there. 5 years later and she hasn't renovated it yet but is routinely fielding offers for double what she bought it for. Feels like everything around here is on the upswing except for blowing a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl. I don't want to live anywhere else

Damn straight. Born and raised. Atlanta has a lot of ghetto ass people and the traffic is fucking awful, Pixelated pointed out some of the stuff that really pisses me off. But there is a ton to do here. A bunch of concerts, festivals, a crazy amount of restaurants, parks, etc.. I have actually made over 100 of the wooden identification signs for the parks here. If you're driving around the city, and see a green (I did a few brown ones) park ID sign with white lettering, that was me.

I was born in Macon, moved to Atlanta, then lived in Augusta for close to 20 years (minus college). Now I'm back in Hotlanta. The entire state is hot as fuck and extremely humid.

If you ever take a trip down to Cobb County, Georgia,ya betta read the signs
Respect the law and order.
You'll serve hard times.
You'll be serving hard times.
You know the Big Bossman'll make ya walk the line

I am in Woodstock and love it. Lots of jobs in alpharetta and dunwoody so not necessarily need to go to real downtown atlanta.
For the most part the people are great and friendly and shit, but there definitely is the "take your time" to do shit which is great and kind of annoying. But overall, it is better than most places. All people have their plus and minuses. For the most part they are not dicks which is different than in many places.

Doesnt Georgia get really balmy in summer? No thanks, I may as well stay in NYC.

I'd like to visit Georgia someday. Along with a few other southern states
