Is 5'10 considered too short for an Amateur Heavyweight boxer today?

Not at amateur, don't see many pros fighting at that height anymore though.
 
It depends. If you're fighting 3 rounders it's usually a shitshow of windmilling. You're build will help if your bullish.

That said first time you box a 6'4 230+ guy you won't feel at home.

We don't even know what you look like so it's pointless to give advice really. That said, if you can go down, do it.
 
I remember when being too tall was a disadvantage for boxers. At the end of the day, it's about skills and power. It always been about skills and power. All that other stuff is just extra stuff.

Don't go down if it affect your health.
