Apple, Facebook, Spotify, YouTube (Google) all banned Infowars within 12 hours of each other, all companies citing that Infowars engages in 'hate speech'.

Each social media platform said Monday that it had removed content from Jones or InfoWars because it had violated their policies. The companies' moves shut down key distribution channels that had given the controversial media figure easy access to millions of internet users.

The most dramatic action came last, from YouTube, which is owned by Google (GOOGL). It removed many top channels associated with InfoWars, including The Alex Jones Channel, which had 2.4 million subscribers and videos that were viewed over 1.5 billion times.

"When users violate ... policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts," said a spokesperson for YouTube.

So now that Infowars has been taken down, how much longer until Fox News and Breitbart is deemed by big tech to not be allowed to exist?

And no one cares except for people with opinions that deserve to be ignored in the first place.

Probably when Shep Smith starts hurling death threats at government officials.

Good, let whackos dig for their fix.

That is a serious blow for Jones. Can't say he doesn't deserve it.
I mean making money of conspiracy nuts is ok.
Doing it to an extent that it affects people lives like with the Sandy Hook shit.
That should get you banned.

Invest in Gab cause that's where he will likely go and he has a large enough base that their stocks will likely climb.

Who is Alex Jones? Serious question.

A conspiracy theorist who has a WWF style persona. He does lots of shouting and incoherent rambling. He convinced a bunch of his moronic, half witted followers that Sandy Hook was a Hoax and the parents helped to fake it. Which led to the grieving parents being harassed by his followers. He also convinced them that a pizza shop in DC was running a child prostitution ring, with the help of government officials. Which led to a random supporter of his showing up at the pizza place with a rifle to free the children.

You see him and think, "There's no way anybody could take this guy seriously." But then you look on Sherdog and realize how fucked in the head people are.

The Sandy Hook shit was 6 years ago, why now?

Private company and all that, they can run their business and ban who they wish

Others are free to use their free speech to cry about it and protest if they feel that may cause backlash on the company to reverse their decision

Jones has been doing his tomfoolery for ages and suddenly all these platforms decide at the same time to ban him.

Whatever you think about Jones, the way this was done raises some eyebrows.

Yes, Gab will flourish once the 709th ranked "new and media" site enters their platform.

Even TYT get more views.

An excellent use of de-platforming. Rather than being motivated by identity politics or fear of facing unpleasant truths or dissent, it's motivated by a defense of truth and decency against one of its most effective enemies, the stomping out of falsehoods and con artistry. Patriotic, as well. The mass butthurt hysteria to come is merely a bonus.

Given the desperation of people as shown by the presidential elections, I'm not surprised people like this become "a voice."

So much ignorance out there.
