IMO beating DC is a good step towards there but he would still need 3 or 4 more years of dominant title defenses

You do realize that stipe got more title defense than fedor right?
And beating dc would make him above fedor in a lot of people eyes.hell even a lot of people in current mma community outside of sherdog fedor cults think stipe is the hw goat
And let’s be honest,no matter who stipe beat. Insecure fedor fans would always nitpick on every stipe wins.

Some people think he's already surpassed Fedor while some believe that he could win his next 10 fights by vicious KO and still never come close to Fedor.

Fanboys will fanboy on both sides.

For me personally, he'd need to win 4 more fights in a row (including DC) for it to become a legitimate 50-50 debate.

id say beat dc and cain and hes right there with him tied. beat volkov/blaydes and hes over the top. by then he'd be like 21-2 or some shit. hard to deny if hes got that record with the resume and 6 title defenses.

Sure he’s the goat in a lot of sherdogger eye but no one think that outside of this forum

If Cain is still in his prime and he beats him. The HW division is weak, can't blame him though

Like Aldo and werdum? Those are not the majority.
And btw gsp doesn’t think fedor is the goat becuase giving fedor some respect doesn’t mean he think he’s the goat.

    Doesnt depend on him solely.

He could beat a whole fookin generation, with win streak and shit, and still end his career a la Larry Holmes.

He needs to fight good fighters, not old "names" or new prospects that aren't ready...and unfortunately, UFC does not have anyone to offer but DC...
Maybe get out of the UFC and fight top HW's from other organizations?

This is really unfair to him, but then again, you can only be great if you get great guys to compete against...

Stipe is already GOAT HW in my opinión.

    Also Werdum > Nog

I don't really care who the "goat" is. Fighters are great in their own times. But to be a revered fighter at heavyweight like a Tyson or like many people think of Fedor it sure helps to be intimidating and have serious power. It's not just what you accomplish but how you do it and Stipe doesn't seem to bring the excitement the same way.

Unless Stipe has his own Big Nog and Crocop, he'll never be HW GOAT IMO.

It's hard to be accepted or seen as HW GOAT when the competition isn't very good.

I would say three or four more victories against the consistent number one contenders and he is right there. It can’t be just about having some long streak, it also has to be who is on your resume? DC Is absolutely better than anyone Fedor ever fought.
