in retrospect what was a bigger detriment to the failing UFC, adding the WMMA or Flyweight divisions

lets face it only a handful of weirdo fetishists enjoy wmmma and about the same (small) number of people enjoy watching manlets compete, again probably for fetish reasons.

both divisions have attributed to the decline in the UFC popularity, this is proven and beyond reasonable debate.

The question is which division has done more long term damage to the grown potential of the now floundering UFC?

It's hard to be not on decline after year like 2016. And last ppv event with more than 1M ppv buys had wmma main event, and 135 lbs guys co-main, so...

...so then you are fooling yourself with your data, rhonda got those buys, the only wmma chick who could do such a thing and the manlet co main event was a toss in that nobody would pay for in itself

some lacking information processing ability you got there , bud. stick with the broom

Was there a more exciting fight on the recent UFC Japan card than Gadelha vs. Andrade? The Just Bleed God was well satisfied, and it was deservedly awarded Fight Of The Night. In fact, WMMA has been pulling its weight with FOTNs and the building of fan interest, whatever haters from Sherdog may like to claim.

You were doing so good until the last sentence.

how has USADA helped the UFC?

do you think the increase of PPV buys from people who boycotted the sport due to steroids, is going to outweigh the PPV losses from cancelled fights and PPV stars getting suspended?

from the UFC's financial perspective, it has only been a negative

I like them both, worthy additions to the UFC. Not detrimental at all.

saki's fight was more exciting, get out of here with that WMMA shilling

Championship ducking is more of a deterrent for long term growth than WMMA gimmick or low ppv numbers from the flyweight division.

If only a small number of people are into wmma then how did Ronda become (and still is) one of the biggest draws ever, why do the women do better numbers on tv and have way more followers on social media than the men on average?

Reebok, making awesome giblert shirts but then they won't sell them to us

sorry most people are not interested on watching at 2 mannish women bleed all over each other

wmma hurt the product more

flw is lame, but they have skills at least

guys jerking off? certainly not their fighting

WMMA puts up bigger numbers, but for quality of fights MM's div wins. Too bad those 2 don't go hand in hand. Going from 200 fighters to 550 means it's tougher for fighters to distinguish themselves. Adding USADA & Reebok means free agency and worse cards due to pull-outs and scrambling for replacements.

But at the end of the day they're doing better numbers and have more followers. Who cares why people watch it, it's a success and that's all the UFC care about.

Let's say everyone who watch's wmma is only watching it because they find them hot or is a cuck/liberal/feminist/beta or whatever buzz word you can think of. If they're giving them a bunch of views and money then who cares.

Did you order UFC 213?

huh? womens mma ppv numbers are shit and rhonda is gone, what are you even talkign about

wgaf about "followers" its just dudes looking for spank material and not monitized

The big problem the UFC has these days I think is that the chickens are coming home to roost for the chronic lack of investment in talent during the Zuffa years. The whole UFC business model was based on asset stripping other orgs, when there werent big rival orgs to buy out and strip anymore Zuffa never wanted to invest enough to talent bringing in high level fighters from other sports directly into the UFC the way Pride, Rings, etc did.

I said tv in my first post, Ronda is gone but she was one of the biggest draws right? The op said only a few people watch wmma then how did Ronda sell so many ppvs and why do the women do great numbers if only a few people watch it?

Some of the posters on this forum (they talk but don't pay for fights) think they speak for the majority of fans when they say on one watches wmma when they're actually the minority.
