In his last fight, Eddie used the same rhythm manipulation that Conor used on Eddie back at UFC 205

Fighters and serious trainees will attest, when you spar with a higher level opponent

it almost always improves your own game / fight style leaps and bounds

They feel Conor's game and all become better for it

Same reason Aldo repeatedly tried to back up & catch Frankie at 200

And now Conor has felt Floyd Mayweather's game

Dustin, Max, Eddie, etc. Every fighter that has allowed Conor in their heart instead of holding bitterness deep in their bum soul has improved leaps and bounds.

Not only is he the greatest fighter, but clearly the greatest coach ever.

Conor Boxed Andre Ward? Have you ever even seen a Boxing match? Floyd at this point is not even a top 10 WW. Maybe not even a top 20 WW.

Was he not #1 when he retired?

It's been 2 years since he retired.

When Jon Jones returned after 2 years MMA fans still regarded him as #1 P4P.

Jon Jones will be 32, still training and in his prime. Even still, most wont be expecting him to be the fighter he was before. Floyd was 40 and 10 years out of his prime (he was just that good). The Floyd that Boxed Conor is not a top 10 WW. He didn't even spar for a month before the fight lol. If you watch Boxing and think the Floyd that Boxed Conor is #1 P4P, then you have no credibility

People love to ignore how Nate had never ever been dropped at 170 in his life before Conor

People also love to say that Conor's power doesn't translate up to higher weight classes, despite the fact that he's scored more knockdowns in his last 2 fights than he did in his entire FW run combined.

Their last fight was a MD. Not exactly decisive. It was a back and forth fight that could have gone either way.

Anyone scoring the second fight other than 3-2 Conor is an idiot.

Also cardio is a huge part of fighting dumbass. Thats like saying Nate is clearly a better fighter and the only reason they are 1-1 is because Nate's shitty defense

Having poor cardio is a deficiency in training methods. Having poor defence is a deficiency in skill.

Maybe.

Maybe you're just embarrassed as a boxing fan that your left hand-right hand sport is so simple and basic that an MMA fighter with 1 year of training can look competitive against the greatest boxer of the 21st century.

I would laugh my ass off if a top dog boxer who weighs 200-220 lbs. fought GSP at LHW.

What does that even mean?

He scored more knockdowns in his 3 LW fights than his entire UFC FW run because it takes him that many tries to actually finish an opponent at LW whereas @ FW they just lose consciousness.

He's scored more knockdowns because he let Diaz and Eddie up rather than follow them down and potentially finish the fight, not because his opponent's have been better able to take the shots at the higher weight classes.

He went to the ground w. Nate in the 1st fight and ended up being trapped in donkey guard by the end of the 1st.

Conor gives them schooling sessions which take them to the next level, free of charge

This is not true. Conor gets paid about a million a minute for his time in the UFC cage.
Most expensive tutor EVA.

Uh... I am an MMA fan first. MMA fans like yourself are embarrassingly insecure about MMA though. It doesn't have to be MMA vs Boxing. They are both amazing sports. An MMA fighter beats a Boxer most of the time and vise versa. There are exceptions of course, like when Ray Mercer KOd top 10 HW Tim Sylvia. But its stupid that the two get compared. Conor was never truly in that fight and anyone who knows what they are watching can see that. Like Deontay Wilder would not have much of a chance vs Anderson Silva.

Conor and his fans are getting hate for good reason. The same reason James Toney got hate when he said he would come over to MMA and KO Randy. It was pure ignorance from Boxing fans then and it is pure ignorance from Conor fans now

And you have no credibility when you say Floyd is P4P #1. Floyd would get smashed by the top WWs in Boxing today. He is 40, retired, hasn't trained much and looks like a shell of his former self

Like it or not, cardio IS a part of fighting. Having poor cardio is an embarrassing excuse for a loss. Also if you think winning a MD 3-2 and getting choked out in the second makes you clearly the better fighter, then you are an idiot

Saw this on Reddit with the exact same title. Same guy? Or did you just copy it here on Sherdog?
