Haters are quick to forget this man has barely over 10 fights and has only began to train seriously for the last few.

His opponent tonight was a 31 year old veteran that has 30 fights, and probably moves into the top 10 with this win.

Perry looked vastly improved. This was a huge step up in level of opponent and the fight was a game of inches, with either on the brink of being finished. This is not the same fighter that struggled a bit with Danny Roberts or even Alan Jouban.

Ponz just easily put the phenom Gunnar Nelson to sleep yet had massive respect for the power of Perry.

When Santiago was only 12 fights into his career like Petty he was getting put to sleep DEEP on the undercard of a Brazilian fight league by a name almost none of us would recognize.

Meek or Alves are good followup opponents after this since Meek has a similar experience level and Alves is on the decline.

What it showed is that he has a good chin and is a brawler. Remember Chris Leben.. Fun to watch and that is about it.

He showed holes in his game, but he held his own

Inb4 this thread just gets trolled with Perry haters

Lol. He has a good chin and decent power.

Nothing more than a brawler.

That's pretty much it.

What you're doing is simply making excuses and suggesting hypotheticals.

The bottom line is Perry has lost twice now and has not shown good fight IQ in either loss.

He's tough, good chin, and he hits hard. I think we all already knew that.

His ceiling was pretty obvious to most.

It shows that he's a top-15 quality fighter. Still young, and he's fan friendly, so I'm sure he'll stick around for a while.

He's a tough guy who hits hard...those type of fighters are fun too watch but dont win belts

He's good. Only fighting pro since late 2014. If Robbie Lawler can become a world champion then there's no reason that Mike Perry can't.

he needs take good time off. most next year i say and train grappling, wrestling takedowns and defense and cardio.

You'll be disappointed to know that the 2 welterweights in the main event have a combined 20 losses.

He needs a high level camp, the technique isn’t there yet. He has the chin and power.

and athleticism, dude explosive and quick learner he got heart.

His chin is the only thing that allowed him to last 3 rounds. He was stunned and hurt several times during the fight. He marked up Ponzi but his vaunted power shots didn't accomplish anything.

He is entertaining and batshit crazy, but he needs to evolve, desparately needs to learn footwork and head movement instead of relying on a big punch and a granite chin.

Also he ate a ton of leg kicks, he needs to learn to check those.

He has youth on his side but having his GF (who to my knowledge knows nothing about coaching a pro fighter) coach him is a bit silly. He needs to get in with a solid camp

He needs to retire

Perry is a young savage
Hespect

Hespect to ponzi even tho he eyepokes
