I think vets are allowed to criticize his military service as well. My understanding is there is no real record that he ever even tried to escape (which they are supposed to) and recorded propoganda for his captors (which you aren't supposed to).

Okay, I'll take you at your word but that is not how you made your opinion sound before Trump launched those missles. That day after the chemical attack when people on here called for a possible retaliation, your response was, "Man , you guys really want that war with Russia."

Vets are given a lot more leeway to criticize other vets. But I still think it's a bit low to shit on a guy who was tortured into recording propaganda and for not trying hard enough to escape (whatever that means).

Remember when Mark Wahlberg said that if he was on one of the hijacked planes on 911 then he would have prevented it and caused terrorist blood to be all over the plane? Everybody was shocked at how naïve and egotistical he sounded. I mean, he's Marky Mark for gods sake. Who the hell does he think he is? Right?

That's Trump, and to some extent, anybody else who pretends to be SO tough that they would bust out of a Vietnamese prison camp, and would never record propaganda no matter how much torture they endure. Sure, okay. Easy to say when you're not being tortured.

My favorite line from the Republican primaries was when Marco Rubio said, "Trump said he'd like to punch protesters in the face. Trump has never punched anybody. Ever."

I'm not sure how he gets away with all his tough guy talk. He is actually pretty feminine.

Disabled vet so no chance in hell at getting drafted, but were things different... I'd probably try to re-enlist and get back to USMC 2nd Tank Bn.

I dont live in america but ill answer imagining that same thing happened in canada.

It would come down to who/what we're fighting for. it would be an automatic yes if say there is a good chance we might get invaded. Who attacked first would also play a big part in my decision.

If there were whispers of a draft, I would just enlist myself. There are many ways to die, but it's gotta be hard to find a cooler way than dying during the final war.

sure, I'd probably get a desk job
So, I can sit in some office and then tell everybody for the rest of my life 'I'm a veteran brah, I fought in world war III"
"When I was young we defended this nation's freedom now your generation creates safe spaces on college campuses, smh!"

Fuck the neocons and their oil wars.
I think that if you do vote neocon, you're a fucking chickenhawk if you don't volunteer.

Grass-roots conservatives who support the NeoCons are usefull idots, just as liberals who defend Islam. The NeoCons and their supporters in media and government, want other peoples' kids to go and die for them.

I'd serve where my talents could best be applied. I'm no spring chicken anymore, allowed myself to put on some middle age pounds and have a few more aches and pains but know my way around a rifle and myself well enough to know I have very few mental or moral qualms about sending 30-06 or 308 down range with hostile intention for a good reason.

You can be a physical specimen but if you can't pull the trigger when you get there you're pointless.

Thank God! What a bunch of 'pussies' in this thread. What makes people think that by enlisting they are going to see combat? For every 1 soldier in the front there are 25 in the rear to support him. Depending on branch and MOS, you may not even leave the U.S. Want to be safe, join the U.S. Air Force. You can still be out of danger even in the U.S. Army if your MOS is related to: AG Corps, Chaplain, Medical, Chemical, Finance, Judge Advocate, Inspector General, Logistics, Intelligence, Ordnance, Public Affairs, Quartermaster, Signal Corps, and Transportation.
