If the UFC ditched the cage/octagon would fights be more exciting?

Fighters can't utilize footwork and angles to cut off and corner an opponent. Fights get stalled up against the fence. The circular shape of the competition area lends itself to fighters, well, moving continuously in a circle and avoiding engagement.

Prior to coming to the UFC Cro Cop trained primarily in a traditional roped ring and many made the case that this was a serious problem, as he wasn't able to fight the way he trained.

I know it's been discussed before but with some of the lackluster fights we've had recently I think it needs to be revisited. As well as yellow cards for refusing to engage.

Stop fucking changing things!

The sport is great how it is. Just get it established in more countries.

Smarter refs and a completely re-done, detailed and intelligent judging system with competent judges is what is important.

Run it like a sport and not the circus bullshit.
