If Gastelum beats Weidman in NY, I think Silva should campaign to fight him

I don´t want to count Weidman out yet, but I like Kelvin´s chances against him.

Despite the fact that the fight scheduled for Rio got cancelled, I´m still interested in watching Silva vs Gastelum. I think Gastelum would respect the legend and stand up with him, like he did against Vitor and would not use the wrestling + lnp type of strategy, although it´s obviously the best way to beat Silva.

But if Weidman beats Gastelum, I don´t think Silva is gonna want to fight against him coming from a loss... neither does he want another fight with Weidman.

But if Gastelum beats Weidman, I think the fight is interesting for both guys and I believe Silva should campaign to fight him, regardless of the place.

Silva knows that in this new ufc "money fight" era, getting a win over Gastelum could mean getting a TS against the champ, be it Bisping again or maybe Romero. It´s not an impossible scenario nowadays.

    Thoughts?

Silva's already on a streak and will not risk the streak or his boxing career.

He was already booked to fight him before. If Gastelum beats Weidman, he becomes an even more valuable opponent. Why the hell would Silva not fight him?

Silva's on a win streak and would be stupid to book any UFC fights.

U've said that twice now, 1 win is not a streak.

Why do you think Anderson Silva ducked everyone. At this year's exact juncture he decided he would threaten to retire...

But he really wants a big money boxing fight. The boxing fight will be worth less if he just got dominated in a 185 fight which hasn't happened since Weidman.

He's only ever been dominated by Weidman and Cormier.

Gastelum would be better off picking off someone else in the Top 10 and work towards a title shot. Even with Anderson's streak not sure the fight does that for him.

I honestly think Silva could beat Weidman at this stage.

Would have beaten him the first time if he didn't take the goofing too far. Second time I think Weidman always had his number, but is known to gas badly so who knows?

I have my suspicions about Weidman's hygiene as much as Silva, so yeah, interesting how Weidman began gassing after 10 minutes in the last 2 and a bit years, right?

I'd rather see him fight a top 5 opponent. I want my boy Kelvin to get that title.

The first Chael fight was pretty damn one-sided, before the Hail Mary triangle.

Silva vs Gastelum is pointless. Why are people so enamored with this fight?

When Gast is done with what's left of Weidman, he needs Yoel Moose Whittaker or Lucy Rock.

At this point, they should both retire. I'm not particularly interested in seeing either fight.
