1. Jackson had similar physical gifts - incredible speed and power - they both were built like bodybuilders 2. Jackson should have been able to play center field - he had the speed and a great arm 3. Jackson's big problem was strike outs - Mantle struck out a lot too but learned strike zone judgement and walked an enormous amount created a great OBA. If Jackson had gone into baseball right after high school he might have reached that level. 4. On the other hand, Mantle (a natural righty like Jackson) had learned how to switch hit. 5. I don't think Jackson would have quite reached Mantle's level but he would have been able to consistently hit an OBA of 360 or so, 40 homers, and solid work in CF. 6, 15 years of that and you are in the HOF. 7. He shouldn't have fucked around with football.
