Does that prove how weak the HW division is?

No, he's a beast. Certainly more deserving than the 2-1 pro wrestler.

He’s young, best base (wrestling) for MMA, always improving, has good physical traits - size and reach

    Shit thread

It would be proof that an already weak division has gotten much weaker.

It's proof the matchmakers aren't doing their job.

His hands are shite. He will be butchered on the feet against guys like Stipe or DC who know how to stuff a takedown.

Than when? When Cain Velasquez was beating the likes of Zombie Nog and Ben Rothwell and was considered HW GOAT? For like 4 years there was no legitimate HWs aside from Cain and JDS. Before that was the Lesnar/Frank/Carwin era... and before that was the Timmeh/Couture era.

You would have to go back like 13 years for a stacked/prime HW roster... and it wasn’t even in UFC

It would be proof that the heavyweight champ looks like Mr. Potatohead.

Please see the first reply of this thread for reference.

Lol. Blaydes is young, talented and fucking awesome. He improves by large margin with every fight. That takedown on reem was pure masterpiece. If I have to pick anyone for the next champ after Stipe retires, its him. Dude is the beast.

Shit thread and the ufc hw division has always ben like this no hw can hold that strap for very long but stipe is seeming to do it well and you never know what is gonna happen a punch from a bjj grappler at hw is a 1 hit ko cain i think he could of reigned for a while still hard to say but cain kept getting ill and injurys the only hw to reign for ever was fedor who never competed for ufc but beat ufc champs and beat them when there was no ufc back in pride.

Do you even need proof for that?

Fire USADA. Make heavyweight great again.

No. Blaydes is a very good fighter. Still young, with the potential to improve more. He wouldn't be a weak champ.

He's a good wrestler who's getting much better every fight. Him being champ wouldn't surprise me at all. Wrestling + Size will always be a combination to kick ass with.

Curtis Blaydes is one of the guys breathing new life into the hw division, which is more interesting now than it has been since Junior and Cain came on the scene. Heavyweight is awesome.
