I Think People Are Really Overrating Khabib's Chances.

Whoever win, lose, because GSP is gonna beat their asses after that fight.

Conor has yet to sleep someone with one hit at 155. So even if he catches Khabib,it doesnt mean he is gonna win.

Khabib isn't stupid, despite that he's russian. He's not gonna get caught. He's gonna take McGregor down, and keep him there.

UNLESS McGregor knocks him out early. Khabib hasn't been hit with anything even closely resembling McG's left hand.

Who knows how he's gonna take that left hand shot? No one is gonna be able to take it if it lands perfectly clean.

Didn't Nate Diaz take it multiple times? And teenage Holloway?

Ur supposed to wait till after conor kos him to discredit him.

I think people are overrating the chances of a fight between Conor and Khabib ever taking place.

1. There is very little upside to Conor actually signing the contract. Not to mention that his demands would be absolutely off the charts.

2. If Conor agreed, making the fight in Russia would be stupid. It would be happening at an unearthly hour in the USA and Canada, which would severely impact PPV sales.

3. If the fight got signed, there would be a 75% chance Khabib gets injured in training and a decent chance Conor misbehaves in the lead-up badly enough for the fight to be scrapped.

In short, I do not believe Conor will fight Khabib.
He might fight GSP or a Diaz brother.

I dunno, he knocked Alvarez on his ass a fair few times. Eddie is pretty chinny these days though.

Those 2 guys have superhuman chins though. We've yet to see Khabib get hit with anything of true note.

Yeah, I've been saying for some time that all the people that think Conor is Tailor made for Khabib don't seem to realize that Khabib is just as tailor made for Conor.

It's a weird fight in some ways, we have 2 very high level fighters but they are both specialists, and whoever loses is likely gonna look very bad doing it, If Khabib can get hold of Conor and get him down, it's gonna be very difficult for him to survive 5 rounds and I say that as someone who thinks Conor's ground game is very underrated.

But likewise Khabib will be in grave danger every second he stands in front of Conor, in all seriousness I think Khabib will be the worst striker Conor has ever faced in the UFC, and Conor will be looking at a very easy target while things are on the feet, the way Khabib lunges in make a one shot KO even more likely.

100%. It's a super intriguing fight, both guys great strength is the others huge weakness.

Diaz took dozens of clean lefts

I dont think Conor will have the cardio to KO Khabib late

Hes got 2 rounds imo

And i do agree, Khabib isnt that big of a favorite

Khabib should not be your 1st fight back after 2yrs off whoring, drinking, snorting, & sleeping on real talent that have been consistently real fighting, Khabib will tear a hole through him...

Sounds like a good two years, though...:D

To the OP's point, the fight will never happen. Conor has too much to lose and would not likely win the match for the many reasons highlighted in the thread.

Lol at Khabib‘s chances. He is undefeated and the LW champ.

We are talking about Conor’s chances here.

Idk man Nate Diaz gets dropped a lot, even Benson knocked him down

Conor only has one clean KO in the UFC and if he knocks down Khabib I don't see him risking going to the ground with him, kinda similar to how he didn't jump on Diaz to try finish him

I feel like Conor HAS to win by KO which is why I favour Khabib

Good point. He's getting a lot of mileage off of knocking Aldo out with one punch. Of course he immediately jumped up to WW following that FW fight.

No doubt he hits hard. But this myth of all he has to do is land that left hand really needs to go away.

I don't it as simple as take him down and keep him there.

History tells me that Conor has landed heavy shots early on every opponent he's faced, it would not be some remote instance if he lands early on Khabib, it's what always happens in his fights...

History also tells me that Khabib gets his takedowns by rushing in with reckless winging punches, and if he gets through whatever Conor thows he'll be in a good spot, but that's like putting his chin on a tee for Conor...

It's an interesting style match up. I think McGregor's power is getting overrated though, there is a chance he stuns Khabib but doesn't actually finish him. Alvarez took a fair few clean hits without going out, as did Diaz, Siver etc.

He could definitely catch him coming in, but if it goes to the ground he is going to get exhausted quickly in my opinion. His conditioning won't hold up.

if he runs across the cage, gets hit with a left and goes down, i'm going to throw my TV into the backyard.
