I think Anthony Smith vs Luke Rockhold would be a lot of fun

Shogun has terrible takedown defense and Rockhold has the best top game in mma. He would slaughter Shogun

Shogun has spent like his last 5 camps training with Maia and his BJJ is better than the guys Rockhold has been crushing from the top (excluding a gassed weidmen)

Im not saying Shogun will win, he could obviously lose but a glassjaw like Rockhold could get slept in any fight with a hard hitter.

Luke would be SIGNIFICANT favorite and would just have to be careful on feet before he eventually gets Smith to ground and makes a mess of the poor guy

I like the sounds of this matchup a lot for some reason.

Thoughts?

I think Smith would run through him. Luke needs to get his confidence back and take a tune-up fight at 205 before getting in there with big hitters like Smith. I just can't imagine body kicks and check hooks keeping Smith at bay. Luke really lives and dies by his ability to keep smaller opponents at the end of his kicks and using the counter check hook to maneuver.
