I need a TV Series recommendation... Something good but off the beaten path

If you haven't, watch Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23. It's only two seasons - I didn't expect to like it at all but goddamn is it funny.

Loved it. Sad it went away.
 
Finished german mini series Im Angesicht des Verbrechens (english title something like In the Face of Crime) this weekend and it's highly recommendable. It's about the russian mafia in Berlin and kinda reminded me of The Wire.

Sounds awesome.

So...Many...Subtitles.
 
Saw a bit of Travellers. Pilot was great but then the whole concept became too corny. Little kids and random people sending messages from the future starts to get corny.

Yeah. It doesn't seem to be living up to the promise of the first half hour, which was fantastic.

Black Mirror is awesome and creepy.

Black Stone is a Canadian Political Drama revolving around a fictional First Nations reserve in Alberta. I believe there is 5 seasons. Eric Swieg I believe is the name of the actor who plays "Chief Andy". He is tremendous in the series.
 
We (wife and I) just started Black Mirror since we needed a short show to watch in between finding a show to binge.

OMG is it twisted. Its a little hit or miss for us, some stuff is boring, but damn it has some twisted stories. Some episodes are downright amazing.

Definitely fits the need for a temporary show since its short, and definitely worth the watch.

Did you try Spotless since its on Netflix? I also heard great things about WolfCreek the miniseries. It should be available on Netflix soon

I see why you heard good things.

Not really the kind of thing I usually watch, but it's REALLY well done.

I just started the second episode and have no idea how they're going to going to run this story for six hours, but I'm going to keep watching.

You haven't watched the original movie have you? I did visit my brother and he said its a very different tone than the movie itself and done quite well. I'll probably check it out myself after the year ends

I may have but I can't remember. As they fade from memory all those murder/torture porn movies look the same.
