Interim title fights are just #1 contender fights I don't pay a lick of attention to a belt designed to fool the public into thinking they are watching a title fight when its not.
If the champion can not or will not defend the belt then strip it if a year has passed especially if it is caused by something besides an injury then the interim title becomes a real joke.
