It's not like anyone around here is under some assumption that Eddie is a technically magnificent striker. The dude has power and is willing to trade - that makes him dangerous against anyone. He looked bad against Cerrone, but then look at the striking monster Cerrone turned into after RDA. The Gilbert and Pettis fights were razor close, but he overcame adversity with the fractured eye against Gil and just used smart game planning to nullify Pettis (and give the fans the most snooze worthy fight in history).
To that degree, that's why he's dangerous for Connor - good power in his hands, extremely durable and a relatively good game-planner. He's definitely a stronger guy and and an infinitely better wrestler, so f he chooses to impose a TD heavy game, he could easily win this.
Saying that, he's waded in and thrown down against nearly everyone else he's fought, and unless he catches Conor with something (unlikely) there's no way he lasts even a round against Conor on the feet. Eddie's looping punches are made for Conor's counter-left.
A great match up all round and a tough fight to pick, but Eddie's 3 x shitty performances prior to RDA have to be put in context - either one of those guys he faced could or have been the champ.
