Oh and based on your post about different peoples of India and Pakistan the Kashmiri people looks more European than Asian.

one of the bigger ethnic groups in afghanistan and pakistan are the pashtuns and they are an indo-european . some have blonde hair and blue eyes.

My last name is Ramirez and both my dad's parents were born in Puerto Rico. All my life I have been claiming Hispanic/Latino on government paperwork. Then I find out I'm more Italian then anything. I feel like such a dick head. I've been lying to the government for years. What a maroon I've been.

If i didn't look exactly like him in his year book photos I world have been like ok something is up but I'm his doppleganger when he was young. The one that really stands out is that I am 55% from the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I suppose it makes sense since my family is much bigger built and fairer skinned than most other Indians.

You know what I noticed about a lot of Indians? They like to point out how much lighter skinned and taller they are than "typical" Indians.That they are from this Northern region or whatever.

Why do you have to specifically mention that?

It kind of shows how you internalized the "lighter skin is better" stereotype prevalent in India.

With two parents from India, I figured that would be my biggest DNA lineage - WRONG.

I am only 35% Dravidian (indigenous Indian)

Either way, it's really crazy to think that somewhere along the line some guy from Russia and Melanesia made their way into our family tree. Just thought I would share.

i am indian and let me tell you, being indian is actually a great thing. we have beautiful people and we have ugly people. just like any race. I for 1 am a great person, have great friends, and i take care of every one that is in my life and i am glad to do it, and for that i have people that love me around me. also, indian parents are one of the best parents you can have. sometimes they can be really strict, but they will take care of you no matter what, and they will buy you what ever it is that you need. as long as your not a selfish ****head.
